<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Isiah Thomas believes that he can win with the same roster that won only 23 games with hall of famer Larry Brown at the helm this season, according to the New York Daily News.

"I do like our players and my job is to get their confidence back and I think they can play at a higher level than what a lot of them performed at last year," Thomas said yesterday.

"I'm very comfortable with our roster. I'm comfortable with the things that we have. I'll continue to look to get better. But if we had to go into the season right now with what we have and the way we look, I'm comfortable with that."

Thomas warned Knick fans not to expect Kevin Garnett or Jermaine O'Neal to be on their way to the big apple this offseason, saying "I'm not here waiting for Santa Claus to come save us." </div>

What can I say that already hasnt been said? Isiah is an idiot. This should probably go in the Isiah Thomas Confirms He's A Moron thread.

Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

lol...somehow im not surprised to see him say this. when he traded for francis last season, everyone was like "logic dictates, he's just stockpiling assets to make moves in the off-season".

clearly logic doesnt apply when talking about isiah thomas.

id like to take a moment to pull a page from Tribute to H20...anyway, i think isiah thomas should be fired

He said he's trying to get some consistency. Two years ago he got 22 new players. Last year he brought in 19 new players. I think it's actually smart he's standing pat. Let's get some consistency going. He's also saying unless they get an all-star (better than Francis-type), they are letting the expiring contracts come off the books.

I hate the fact that Francis and Marbury are going to be the Knicks backcourt, but that's why i'd want to see them and the rest of this bunch for next season. They should coexist better than they did last year under Brown's system, but I'm hoping the players start to bash Thomas as their head coach; then maybe we could get him fired mid-season!

I agree. This team has talent. It's just a matter of finding the right style of play that best suits that talent. I actually think Thomas, knowing his coaching history and his style of play, will be a lot better for these Knicks than Brown was.
