Charlie V is going to be an All-star, and he was a class act.

This is terrible... terrible. I cannot descrbie how PISSED OFF I am right now. Wow, this is F*CKING RETARDED!

COLANGELO!!! NO!!!! DID YOU NOT WATCH THE RAPTORS LAST YEAR!!! GOD DAMMIT!

Although I don't like saying it this trade is making the Raptors a more complete team, Don't get me wrong Charlie was awesome but TJ Ford brings us true point guard skills. We can actually still do a sign and trade with Mike James, some rumors are starting that it could be sign and trade for Peja. This opens the Raptors options on what to do to make this team playoff bound. Charlie V will be missed by the home crowd along with Bonner. I am sure you will hear nothing but applause when Bonner and Villanueva come back to play, and you can bet your *** that I'm going to be at the sale rack grabbing all the Charlie V jerseys I can.

Big man that can shoot the three, drive and dish and have a decent post game are hard to come by. HORRIBLE TRADE for the raptors imo.

To make things even worse, we're giving up cash. We better somthing damn good for Mike James to make this trade a little decent.

Mike James for Shard! ok, that's overboard. I realllly hope BC has something up his sleeve. I'm a super pissed Raps fan right now. I don't know how that's possible when we had the #1 pick in the draft just 2 days ago.

I hope Ford fails his physical.

I for one don't want Peja, especially not for the kind of money that he will demand. He's soft, can't create his own shot and chokes during the playoffs.

Besides, if there will be another trade coming, we're not likely going to see it coming, just like his other trades.

Not feeling this trade at all. Colangelo, WHAT?

But given his history, Uhe beter have a plan up his sleeves with Mike James. If we get nothing (or simply, crap) back for james, I will be incredibly disappointed

Big mistake. This trade should've at least waited till mid season, I dont think Bargnani is worthy of such faith, Villanueva is proven and still has enormous potential.

T.J Ford is a good player, but for Villanueva, I would've at least expected Magloire or a future first rounder to be included in the deal. This is going to backfire on the Raptors.

    >:(..TJ Ford is too small to defend/HORRIBLE shooter

loosing CV is really sad..but honestly..his value was so much higher..we really could have gotten smth else in return..this puts the bucks into a real good position..Bogut and CV will make an excellent combination..and they also have Simmons and Redd..who are excellent shooters/mediocre defender..and finally they also have Magloire who they will probably trade for a guard..

we could have atleast asked for magloire!!!

Someone should pull a Tonya-Harding. I'm sure her henchman is still for hire.

Don't forget they have Mo Williams. He is the reason why T.J was expendable for them.

I don't know what to do now...

I was so stoked of having the best front court in the East for years to come, and we trade a key player for a mediocre undersized PG who has a bad history, can't shoot, can't defend and was expendable because he had 2 backup PGs that out performed him on a regular basis.

This is jsut great... I can't believe this.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ESPN.com:</div><div class="quote_post">MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks traded point guard T.J. Ford to the Toronto Raptors on Friday night for forward Charlie Villanueva and cash.

Ford averaged 12.2 points and a team-high 6.6 assists in 72 games last season following a spinal-cord injury that sidelined him for a season and a half.

"He was an inspiration to all of us when he found the will and strength to fight back from the neck injury he suffered during his rookie season," Bucks general manager Larry Harris said. "We wish him much success in Toronto."

The 6-foot Ford was the No. 8 pick in the 2003 draft.

"We are sorry to see Charlie leave, but getting better comes at a cost," Raptors president and general manager Bryan Colangelo said. "T.J. Ford's best attributes, quickness and playmaking, are a perfect fit for our team."

Harris hopes Villanueva will fill the team's need for a power forward to complement 7-foot center Andrew Bogut, the top pick in the 2005 draft.

The 6-foot-11 Villanueva, selected seventh overall in the 2005 draft, averaged 13.0 points and 6.4 rebounds in 81 games for the Raptors. The former Connecticut star set Toronto rookie records for points with 48 on March 26 at Milwaukee and rebounds with 18 on April 2 against New Orleans.

"Acquiring Charlie takes care of a primary need we had going into the summer," Harris said. "He's a gifted power forward who knows how to score both inside and outside. ... The outstanding rookie season he had last year is only the beginning of what he's capable of achieving."

The Bucks, with a revamped roster and Ford as floor leader, reached the playoffs with a 40-42 record last season. It was a 10-game improvement from the previous season when they didn't make the playoffs.

In the playoffs, they lost 4-1 to Detroit in the first round.

On Wednesday, the Raptors selected Andrea Bargnani with the No. 1 pick in the draft. The 6-foot-10 European has drawn comparisons to Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki because of his outside shooting skills. Playing last season for Benetton Treviso in Italy's Lega A, Bargnani shot 37 percent from 3-point range, and the Raptors might have viewed Villanueva as expendable after drafting Bargnani.</div>

Holy ****! WE GAVE THE CASH!

It's not enough to give up Charlie V for Ford but CASH IS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THIS BULLSHIT DEAL!

I think Colangelo and Gheradini have been drinkin or smokin too much after their after draft party because this is just atrocious..

I am never going to trust his moves anymore... he can't do **** without daddy looking over him.

I don't know why Raptors fans are making a big fuss about this, T.J. Ford is very, very talented. You guys need a PG, especailly if Mike James leaves. You have a log jam at the forward position, this helps a lot.

As you guys are looking at it now, I know that you guys are pissed and all but you needed a point guard more then Charlie. I am actually happy to see TJ come and they will mold him into a great point guard alongside Andrea and Bosh.

    TJ
    Mo Pete
    AB
    CB4
    Rasho

The center spot looks soft as of now but that could change if a trade is worked out for Mike James for a SF type thing and you can move up AB and CB4. Good trade if you look at it overall.

It looks like Colangelo was originally inquiring about a trade involving Magloire and it eventually evolved to this deal.

The people saying this was a good trade by the Raps are idiots..plain and simple.

You dont trade a big for small
    also
CV31 is a year younger than Ford
    also
Ford is one year closer to being off his rookie contract...which means we pay money sooner
    also
Ford had a very very serious spine injury....

YOU DONT TRADE A YOUNGER, HEALTHY BIG MAN FOR A POINT GAURD THAT CANT SHOOT AND HAS A BAD BACK!

note: i do feel ford will fit well with Toronto..but he is simply not worth giving up CV31...not even close. Ford and a 1st rounder for next year, then we talk...straight up though?
