<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ESPN.com - The Miami Heat picked up reserve guard Jason Kapono's $1.1 million contract for next season Friday, one day before he would have become a free agent. Kapono averaged 4.1 points in 51 games last season for the Heat, making two starts. He appeared in one postseason game during Miami's run to the NBA championship. "We will definitely keep Jason," Heat coach Pat Riley said Friday. "I don't think there's a better 3-point shooter in the game." </div> The link won't work, I got it at Realgm.
A lot of teams were interested in Kapono when the Heat were trying to trade into the draft. By picking up his contract, we can atleast look to deal or package him in a deal in the future.
^^ LOL I hope so! Anyways, I hope that Kapono gets some playing time finally. He can shoot 3s so just hang around the 3 point line and wait for Wade/Shaq to kick it out.
Its good we got him back, he truly is an amazing shooter from behind the arc. Its kind of funny how Riley said hes the best three point shooter, and never played him...but HEY it worked lol.
Well if Payton leaves, and Shandon Anderson fades into obscurity, Kapono should be a valuable weapon next season as a shooter.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, he can be a weapon offensively sort of like Damon Jones was in 04. Shaq gets doubled then kicks it out and Kapono drains em.
