DeShawn Stevenson, Qyntel Woods, Joel Pryzbilla and Speedy Claxton. Id realistically go after all four. DeShawn and Qyntel would add depth and wing help, both are stellar defensively, and offensively they can run the floor and to me it seems like thats what we're building our team to do. Joel can anchor our defense alongside Andrea and Bosh in the frontcourt, and Speedy is well, Speedy.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting deception:</div><div class="quote_post">who would you pursue? three words from me- "please not peja"</div> Looks like Peja will sign with the Hornets http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2507013

Also him and TJ Ford would really bring similar things. I think now that we have TJ, AND Calderon, we should maybe look to get a bigger PG, as opposed to another small one. Pryzbilla is a nice one, we should definately pursue him, but not overpay, he's not good enough for us to be paying $15 million to our centers. If we really want to go after a PG, Jason Hart is a cheap guy that can be a nice backup.
I actually think getting Peja would've been a good idea, but for more than $12 mill a year, uummmmmm no thank you. The only other options I can think of at 3 would be Al Harrington and Jared Jefferies. Jefferies is a good idea but I doubt the Wizards will be willing to let him go. AH would be a pretty decent pick up though. He's young, fits in with a run and gun offense, has a decent 3 point shot and can rebound. He'll probably demand a lot of $$$ but if we can get him for a decent price, then I'll be a happy camper.
Enough international players! I think Peja is a dirtbag, though I do like Przybilla and maybe Jared Jefferies...and what about Ben Wallace?
Jason Williams+Woods+Jefferies+Daniels(s&t)= depth That's just me dreaming though. Jefferies is sure to get a big contract after his playoff play (like Bonzi Wells' situation). PG: Ford/Calderon/Williams/Daniels SG: Peterson/Daniels/Woods/Tucker SF: Bargnani/Graham/Tucker/Jefferies PF: Bosh/Jefferies/Bargnani/Humphries -C: Rasho/Bargnani/Sow?/FA Looks good to me. I really would like to acquire a second scoring option though with James on his way out and Charlie gone. It's doubtful though with our most tradable asset being Peterson.
PG- earl watson no calderon please earl play opposite style to TJ ford and very affordable i think it's a very solid 1-2 PG rotation SG-ronald murray....if he's not asking too much, he is a good addition allen ray as undrafted rookie...cheap contract and that outside presence why? because where can you find a clutch player that is affordable? marquis daniels through trade with mike james also possibility here although daniels is more like utility man then having a true position for now SF/PF- pittsnogle...give this guy a chance and he is cheap to sign PF-reggie evans...offensively he sucks but he rebounds and very affordable...very durable player too C-wilcox and reggie can play some minutes here wilcox might be a long shot but it will be awesome if he can be added at the right price
Come on.. u guys are forgetting about Milt!!.. he's a FA.. come on now.. he's mr. MVP. I think we can sign a few decent guys. One guy i would like back in Raps uniform is Lindsey Hunter for his on ball defense. We could sign Devean George, he has some good defense and is a SF. Bonzi Wells is like Morris Peterson some what. We could use a player like Wells but he'd want too much. Jared Jefferies is a good player too. Like his hustle plays and defense. However, i'd try to save money and go after players next season and get the bigger FA players.
damn.... i forgot about harrington i think if we got him we'd be competing for 7th or 8th spot in the playoffs. pg - ford sg - peterson sf - harrington pf - bosh c - rasho/bargnani
How bout Flip Murray? He's a great scorer and can replace some of the points we're bound to lose without Mike James and CV. He can play the 1 if necessary, and that kind of versatility will really help address our lack of depth at the 1 and 2.
I would just go for it and sign Harrington. There's not anyone left that can make a bigger impact on our team. We have a huge hole at small forward. It looks like he's looking at 10 million per year. I think he is worth it for 19-7, he's only 26, a decent defender and it looks like his numbers are improving every season. Now if we do the sign and trade with Dallas with James for Daniels (apparently there was a deal, but Colangelo declined), money would be tight though. Nesterovic Bosh Harrington Peterson Ford Sow/Humphries Bargnani Graham Daniels Calderon/Ukic Pretty decent.
harrington is a good player, although, i prefer athletes and i think we should always preserve a healthy cap scenario. so i wouldn't sign any FA's and make a run with what we got; maybe consider a minor trade for a combo guard like antonio daniels. nevertheless, if we can get jay williams at something like 3 years for five million i would strongly contemplate such a move
3 years, team option on the 2nd year to pick up the 3rd year too would be nice for Jay Williams. I really hope Mavs keep on "courting" Mike James so Raps can sign and trade him for Daniels hopefully..

What's the point of having money under the salary cap to spend? How many teams are championship contenders that haven't had to spend money to bring in the talent? If you don't spend the money, you're not going to win anything in the NBA.

Keeping the money gives us some flexability .. we learned that the hard way about 6 years ago when we signed AD, JYD, AW, to long-term deals because we thought we had to make a move right away ... If we spend all the cash and the team chemistry for one reason or another sucks next year and so do we there are less ways to address that. If we spend modestly and build our way up we can give ourselves more options to make moves in the future.

I really don't understand the reason why you don't like Calderon. He can't shoot the ball from beyond the arc but he can really distribute it. Earl Watson isn't as great as you think, he comes to everybody's minds now because he improved on his three point shot, but I remember watching him when he played for Memphis and he really wasn't special. I'd like a pg rotation of tj ford/calderon and a veteran pg.
