I knew this was a Phil signing. Radman just seems like a Phil Jackson kind of guy. Does he remind anyone else of Toni Kukoc?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheBlackMamba:</div><div class="quote_post">Does he remind anyone else of Toni Kukoc?</div> Sure, if you ignore the fact Toni could play five positions, had a higher IQ, was a better defender, rebounder and a much, much better passer and ball handler. Vlad is a shooter and not much else, but when he's hot there's not many in the league better.
This is encouraging with Kobe and Phil signing off on this trade. I'd say Odom is more like Kukoc than Radman. Toni Kukoc has amazing court vision and is a better playmaker. Radman is definitely a Tri fit and is an upgrade over Brian Cook. Just imagine him getting the same looks Cookie got last year in the offense, plus now we have Odom in the low block. With the additions of Mo Evans, Farmar, and Radman our team has improved from last season and should be more consistent.
Yea the only thing Kukoc and Radman have in common is they are euro shooting forwards. Kukoc was a multi-dimentional player, while Radman is not. Their styles are quite different Speaking of Kukoc, he's about 38 years old now but he's a UFA, any chance Phil might push for his signing? He seems pretty washed up but so did Harper and McKie and we still signed them (one turned out well, the other not quite so well) ..

I'd like to see the Lakers pursue Trevor Ariza.
Okay, now it's all make sense afterall. It was Kobe and Phil for Rad signing. Phewww...feel much better after hearing that . Obviously if Kobe and Phil think Rad can helps them out in the offense, I'll trust them. We do need another Center if Mihm is gone.

However, as long as Phil has been on the Lakers, it has seemed that everytime a former Bull is available, there are rumors the Lakers are going after them. Even Jason Caffey had a preseason stint with the Lakers. With that said, I think the Lakers need to go big with the LLE. I'm not sure who is available but if Mihm is going to be traded for a guard (as rumored), we will be very thin up front. That is unless the Lakers believe Bynum will be a major contributer this year and frankly that's suicide to lean on that. Wish for the best, prepare for the worse .
Yeah what ever we don't get in trading Mihm, we need to address with the LLE. I still think we need a reliable veteran PG, and also one more defensive player at the swing position. Jumaine Jones? Ruben Patterson? Adrian Griffin? Greg Buckner? We need someone who can defend the PG spot well enough and still has the size to guard against the pick and roll. The Suns and Mavs love running the P&R and in the Phoenix series, Smush Parker was getting dominated having to switch off and guard Diaw. Either Smush needs to bulk up, or we need to add an athletic defender who can guard in the post. Too bad Sasha isn't committed to an offseason strength and conditioning program. If he could add another 10 to 15lbs of muscle and still keep his quickness, he'd be perfect for that role.
I don't think anyone in this board can out coach the zen master so please let's not critisize a guy who hasn't even put a Laker jersey on. I know we Laker fans expect much better signings like Garnett and all the big names, but I think this signing will improve the team.
Chicago - L.A. Coach Pjax Pjax Players MJ = Kobe Pippen = Odom Kukoc = Vlad Rodman = Kwame Kerr = Farmar??? hahaha

I thought he would ahv been an asset to the team.

He is deadlocked on the Magic. Otis said he is one of the players he hopes to see in a Magic jersey for a while after he signed an extension to his contract.

Radman rocking #10 next season. In his press conference on am570 he said he likes playing on the Purple & Gold court because he hit 8 three pointers on it. He also mentioned he has Triangle experience playing in Russia for Red Star. He won't be playing for his National Team this summer, he just wants to concentrate on improving his game for the upcoming season. He also said he's looking forward to working on his post moves with Vlade Divac.
lol I heard the whole interview with Radman today on 570. He is no emotion, but he threw in a couple funny lines. I'm excited, I think he's gonna bust his ass for us next year, especially with Kobe there, he knows he can't be slacking off. I always happy to hear that he already had triangle experience playing in Russia, that's a big plus.
