I don't know how accurate this is, but I heard on another forum that it was reported on ESPN that the Hornets have inked Bobby Jackson, don't know the terms, and are in trade discussions with the Bulls to trade PJ Brown and JR Smith for Tyson Chandler and Malik Allen.

    I'll look out for confirmation.

    My God, Hornets are STACKING!

They're building a nice young team. Even with Peja, I thought all they needed was some defense, and if that rumored Chicago deal goes through, Chandler and Allen bring a lot of beef and rebounding. I wonder where David West would fit in though?

I didn't even think about that. The Hornets would have a logjam at forward. Armstrong, Simmons, West, and possibly Chandler and Allen. Other than that, the team is stacked, yes. I like what they're doing around Paul. Peja could go back to his all-star form with Paul at point.

I like the deal more for Chicago, especially if they sign Big Ben. This becomes a dangerous situation for New Orleans because they'll have a lot of money tied up in two overpaid players, Peja & Chandler.

The Hornets drafted two lanky shotblockers in Simmons and Armstrong, is Chandler that much better than either?

Chandler is a lot more effective when he has a big man playing alongside him. He's not strong to guard the big PFs or Cs in the league, and gets in foul trouble when he's forced to play position defense.

When you have someone like Chris Paul on your roster, I don't think I'd build the core around him with Peja or Chandler.

Nice pickup for the Hornets, they're really starting to make some strong moves. I think they're definatley playoff bound next season.

That is 100% true. However dont you think Chandler is going to bulk up this offseason? I haven't lost hope in him just yet...But if we get big ben then i wont be disappointed he leaves.

What has he been doing all these years then?

Anyways, I like the signing for NOH, it gives them another nice shooter and a different flavour at backup PG. While BJax is injury prone, he's not so much more than Claxton, so it should be okay.

This franchise is turning themselves around.

    PG- Chris Paul
    SG- Desmond Mason
    SF- Peja Stojackovic
    PF- David West
    C- Tyson Chandler

That would be a nice lineup and I could see them in the playoffs. The Hornets and the Magic are the best young teams in the NBA.

..and the Wizards are, as well...

I'm loving the pieces that are being put around Paul.

With Claxton gone to ATL Jackson is a nice fit. Didn't he win sixth man of the year some time ago or am I going crazy?

I don't see why everyone is so hot on Bobby Jackson's game. He's got the name recognition because he won Sixth Man of the Year in Sacramento, but he was horrible as a Grizzlie. He plays a real selfish style of basketball and gives up way too much size to be effective on the defensive end. He's more of a 6'0" two guard than he is a point guard anyway. I don't see New Orlean's need for that, and I don't see how they'll find playing time for him, unless they do wind up playing him at shooting guard.

Agreed. Maybe he was the best for NO after Claxton left, he hasn`t done much in the last few years.

Don't forget the Bobcats, and Bulls.

The hornets are really looking impressive. The people they are bringing around Chris Paul is commendable. They all fit well IMO. Paul drives and can kick it out to Peja or alley oop it to Tyson or Desmond [IMG] .

I think Desmond Mason should really step it up to make the Hornets better. He had a horrible season, down like 7 points from his 2004-2005 scoring average? And he shot worse than 40%. He's an athletic slasher would should have gotten good passes from Chris Paul...
