If you can believe it - six years, 60 million.

    This means two things:

    1)

K-Mart is almost certainly gone from Denver you would assume.

    2)

The early market has been set for a starting big man. Chris' agent will obviously use that deal as a starting point for negotiations, and rightly so.

Interesting times ahead, I have a feeling this one drags out.

Just goes to show how people will overpay for bigs - I think we can all imagine both Swift and Petro averaging 10 and 6 in the very near future.

Will we be able/willing to pay them both 10 mil per year?

As far as it's effect on Wilcox, obviously I don't think 25 games averaging 14 and 8 in throwaway games warrants 60mil, and I still question his heart/head after he gets big money. Nene at least had been progressing nicely for a couple years before getting hurt.

Still I'd obviously love to see him in a Supes uni for 7-8 per year and continuing to progress in our system.

Couldn't agree more, I'm just pointing out what his agent is going to say now. Something along the lines of what Chris did in 30 games as a Sonic betters any period Nene has had in his career, this his contract should be in at least the same ballpark.

Yep. OTOH, we could counter that Ben Wallace only got offered 4/48 [IMG]

As always, written sarcasm doesn't always translate how it is intended.

    I love restricted free agency.

Well I actually wasn't being sarcastic, just saying if we're going to play the comparison game that on one hand you have a guy who averaged 10 and 6 and played all of one game last year signing for 6/60, and on the other you have the premier low post defender in the league, the anchor of a championship team and 2-3 time defensive player of the year getting offered 4/48 (and eventually signing for 5/60?)

4/60 I think, because of the over 36 rule that's in place now.

Not a financially great signing by any means from the Bulls, but probably one they had to make to counter the LeBron/Wade presence in the East.
