Lebron is still making chumpchange. Mike was also selfish when he made 30+ a year. Although the bulls got to rape him his first 10 years. What im saying is this. since the NBA has made this Global movement they are making more money than ever so why cant the players get raises. Its business. They only get to do this stuff for an average of about 8 years so CASH IN FELLAS!!!
I don't know why this thread is still going but I'll give my 2 cents. Ben Wallace left on a good note. The reason he left wasn't as good however. He wanted more money over winning. That contract you guys love mentioning he signs does not include money he recieves from commercial advertisement(Nike, Reebok, what have you) so saying he took the bigger offer "for his family" need to realize thats not their only form of income. I also agree that ALL sports players(NFL, NBA, etc.) are overpayed, especially considering that school teachers and college proffesors make 1 dollar bills when comparing it to an NBA players wealth. We have people starving on the streets, terrible communties, but just because this guy can make that ball go through a hoop he gets millions of dollars? Its terrible....
its about entertainment, and supply and demand. people want to see the closest thing to human perfection...i.e. Michael jordon, Wayne Gretzke, Brett Favre. People are WILLING to pay rediculous amounts of money to watch these professional athletes play, thats why they make so much. Even the teachers, professors, or even hobos on the street are willing to shell out cash to see their heros play in a game...... ps- the pistons will suck without Ben Wallace!!!

They want to capitalize off their skills. So let them. Its their choice.
The thread turned into Wallace dissapointed with his Pistons intital offer to whether NBA players deserve the money they do. The world is upside down... Facing the facts, the general perception of the world is that the people with the easier, higher end paying jobs are the easiest. Its easy to throw that fact that these players make millions with starving people on the streets, people with min. wage jobs, ect ect... but the fact is, any of us would except those millions as well. Maybe not be on the level of taking 43 million over 40 million, however, there will always be people like that.

These guys are already filthy rich!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting slpnsld23:</div><div class="quote_post">These guys are already filthy rich!</div> So what? Are we supposed to hold that against them or somthing? We should be focusing on the players ability rather than how much they get paid. Big Ben took the money, he is gone, get over it.
