It was reported on CL and LG that this morning, at about 4:00 AM (7:00 AM EST), on the radio they were saying the Lakers and Knicks were talking about a Lamar/McKie trade for Frye and Francis.

I still look at this as another stupid rumor, but I find it intriguing that it's to Lamar's home. His son just passed away, would you think Lamar would want to go back home? It'd be a lot easier on him to be close to home rather where you have family support no matter what. You could always go see your family when you're having a tough time. While in NY, all he can really do is call his family up, their 3,000 miles away.

I think it's more of a possibility now, than ever. So I wouldn't be surprised if Lamar was traded back to NY, his home, more than likely his son's final resting place. This move makes all the sense in the world to me, out of respect for Lamar.

    Lamar isn't going anywhere.

He's being shopped, Kobe wants to win now, I guarantee the team is fielding Lamar offers.

I bet the thought of going back home has crossed Lamar's mind, especially now since his son's death, I wouldn't put it out of reach that Lamar has requested a trade back home.

This is a terrible trade for the Lakers. Our offseason has been promising and Radman is what this team needed. He's capable of being the 2nd option on offense, and Odom won't have the pressure of getting 20PPG now.

We hope Lamar isn't going anywhere.

Lamar isn't being shopped to my knowledge and why would Kobe want to shop away our second best player on the team if he wants to win now? Lamar is a triple double threat every game. That kind of stuff isn't passed around so lightly.

I don't want Frye going anywhere, but I don't mind if Francis is gone. I don't really like this trade from a Knicks standpoint. Odom is a good rebounder and passer, but he struggles to stay consistent and play defense, something we're trying to stay away from this season.

I agree that this trade would be really stupid.....I can't see Francis and Kobe existing in the same backcourt together.

No way do I want this. The Lakers need neither of those players. They need a guy that can score in the post, Lamar will be that guy, Frye isn't. Beyond that, Francis is overpaid and he won't be able to coexist with Kobe if his life depends on it.

I use to like Francis when he was in Houston, he just kind of dropped his level when he went to Orlando or something. He used to be pretty good....

I'd rather have Jalen Rose than Steve Francis.

MrJ you have to keep in mind Lamar Odom was very consistent the last two months of the season once he finally figured out the offense. He defended very well during that stretch as well, and outplayed Shawn Marion in the Suns series.

If the Lakers deal Odom, their best option in the post becomes Kobe Bryant again. Channing Frye likes shooting mid range jumpers we have Radman and Cook for that.

If Francis comes to the Lakers, it will be the death of this franchise.

I dont think dealing francis to the Lakers would mean our death, but I DO NOT like this trade rumor at all. I'd like to give Odom one more season.

I bet a GM like Mitch is even capable to classify this trade rumor as DUMB.

This is a horrible trade for the Lakers. I don't even think Mitch is dumb enough to pull this off.

horrible trade for the lakers. lamar has shown that he is starting to be real comfortable with the triangle, and is a triple double ready to happen. frye had a good rookie season, but i dont think he will be anything special in the league. there is no way i want steve francis here in LA. i doubt the guy would fit well in the triangle, and him and kobe will have some problems. if we do trade away odom, trade him away for KG.

The only blockbuster trade offers I would be looking at are those for Duncan, Marion, Gordon, Nash, or KG. Other than that, too risky.

Other then Gordon and MAYBE Marion who can both be perhaps packaged and traded for Odom, there is no way in hell that Duncan Nash and KG are included in deals without Kobe being the player that's traded from the Lakers.
