<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Nets unveiled their summer league roster Monday, and in addition to Antoine Wright, Marcus Williams and Josh Boone, it includes one more familiar face ... that of Tamar Slay. After leaving the Nets for Charlotte in the 2004 Expansion Draft, Slay played just eight games for the Bobcats and was not in the league last season, playing instead in the Israeli league. The roster also includes Eric Williams of Wake Forest and Rashad Wright of Georgia.</div> Rest of the roster
Tamar Slay is good player...to keep on the injured reserve...jokes aside, the guy is a fairly good player, and has been with NJ through one final and a playoff push. He is a hard working athlete, who I would like to have had succeed with the Bobcats, but as far I know, he got injured and could not get his game together afterwards.
Tamar was on my favorite team in Israel, Hapoel Jerusalem, this year, so it would be tough to see him go...but if he goes to the Nets, meh. Anyway, I here's what I've seen from him this season in Israel: ADVANTAGES -Athletic -Good defensive rebounder -Pretty good three point shot -Above average defense -Great at running up and down the floor DISADVANTAGES -Turnover prone -At the beginning of the season, he would foul out in around 10 minutes of play, now he's less foul prone, but still it's a problem for him sometimes. -Sometimes his shot selection is horrible From what I've seen, Tamar doesn't thrive in a situation in which he's the main focus of the offense (like on Iso plays), but that shouldn't be a problem in Jersey. He's better off the ball, with the play focusing on other players and he being the 3rd option to get the ball to.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ma3oxuct:</div><div class="quote_post">^The most important question: Did the team win?</div> Yep, they fiinished 2nd in the regular season (with the mighty Maccabi Tel-Aviv at 1st), lost in the Finals of the Final Four to Maccabi Tel-Avi (again...), lost in the Finals of the Israeli Cup to Maccabi Tel-Aviv (...) and got to the 1/2 Finals of the ULEB CUP (the 2nd best Euro cup) where they lost to Dynamo Moscow, who went on to win the title. So, I'd say they won a lot, but lost when it mattered.
