Although we handled them this year, Detroit Pistons were still always a threat, but noww that Ben Wallace is gone! The Heats chances for taking care of them again next year are very high. Although he didn't score much, and the offseason aint over, this still hurts the Pistons alot. Miami should be cruiiisssinn next year. [IMG]

Yeah, this is a huge blow to Detroit. Although they are still much a threat to the Heat and a contender in the East, they aren't as intimidating as they were before with Big Ben in the paint. Now The Heat road to the finals will be a little easier next year. The Heats main test would be in the Finals against teams such as Dallas, San Antonio, and Phoenix.

Hmm...cruising? are you joking? shaq is a year older and the team that gave him a challenge in the first round got ben wallace (if it's true...which i hope not)...the Bulls are definetely going to challenge the Heat...and of course the Nets, Pistons, Cavs might pose a threat depending what trades/signings happen...

don't punch ur ticket to the finals so early.

My point was that Detroit; the team we have the most trouble with in our Conference.. just got worse.

To be honest i thought u struggled more against Chicago.
But I'll admit that after u played us, u turned it up.

This is probably worst for Miami. The Pistons had pretty much reached their max potential, and the Heat had beat it. Now they have anew threat a team who’s core has no one older than 25. Now with the addition of Wallace will only get better. A young team who last season had the best opponent field goal percentage in the league, and now has added the reigning defensive player of the year. With Shaq aging, and Riley leaving. If I where a Heat fan I would be very worried.

Geez, you Heat fans sure are cocky.LOL, just kidding. The bulls are a legit contender with the addition of Big Ben, this also might mean that Tyson is going to be traded, unless he moves to PF (but that would mean that there backcourt is extremeley bad offensively). tyson will probably be traded for a scoring and rebounding PF, like the hornets deal with P.J Brown and J.R Smith.

    Rileys leaving now?

Anyways, this is good news, but the Bulls just got so much better with the addition of Wallace, Thomas and Sefolosha coupled with the improvement of their young core players. I can't really call them title contenders yet, but they are at threat to take it in the wide open in East. I like the Heat's roster, and if we improve our bench, and retain Posey, hope for another Shaq injury free post-season, the Heat should be able to play to better next season with Riley as coach from training camp, and with the chemistry gained for this group. But there's still a long way to go in the off-season, so I don't wanna get ahead of myself, but the Bulls have made themselves legit contenders in the East.

Didn't he say during the season he only intended on coaching the team this season?

I wouldn't rejoice just yet. The Bulls were already going to be a dangerous team, but now it's even more so. That great defense just got better with this signing. The Bulls are going to be very tough next year and might be contending for a top 3 spot and a legit shot at the Finals.

If you ask me, this move doesnt hurt our team that much. We'll still make the playoffs next season.

True, but it hurts you significantly. It also pretty much turns you from a contender to a pretender.
But then again i may be wrong because the East is still dam weak. Wouldnt surprise me if ur still top 4 team in east

We've won and contended for the title the past 3 seasons now, you cant expect this golden run to continue forever. There was always going to be a time where changes would take place, now seems to be that time.

Sure the Pistons may not be as much of a force now but I'm telling you Heat fans, look out for Orlando.

I understand that theres other teams in the East that can compete with us especially Chicago by adding Big Ben, I understand that..but still none of those teams are as much of a threat as Detroit was, and now Detroit just got worse..so that without a doubt is good news for us Miami fans.

Cruising? Are you kidding me? The Cavs, Detroit, and now CHICAGO will give any team a run for their money in the East. If anything, it will be even more competitive. Washington is also a very solid basketball team. Possibly Orlando next year as well if they can pick up a couple good FA's.
