<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Toronto Star - The Raptors have their sights on some free agents who they hope to have signed by next week, the Toronto Star is reporting.

No one from the team will comment on or off the record on potential signings because of the moratorium the league has imposed. Teams can reach agreements with free agents at any time but can't sign them officially until July 12.

According to the Star, Phoenix's Eddie House would be intriguing, a proven scorer off the bench, Cleveland's Flip Murray is a combo guard, and Indiana's Fred Jones has the kind of athleticism Toronto might want.

Toss in the likes of Utah's Matt Harpring, a tough competitor and backup outside shooter the team lacks, with Denver's Greg Buckner and there are several players the Raptors might like</div>

who do you prefer from that list? i like fred jones cause he's the best defender out of the three and i personally think hes offense was stifiled in indiana's defense first, second and third system. if he comes here we might have to re-teach him the fast-break.

i like jones out of that list too. to be honest, nobody on that list really impresses me all THAT much, but if im picking any of them, ill take jones. although, i think buckner's defense is probably better then jones...jones obviously has more upside then he does. flip is a bit of a chucker, i dont see at all how harpring would fit into our plan, and eddie had a career season in phoenix...thats always scary when leaving for another system...look at q-rich

I'll take the other guy, Flip Murray because I think he has more of an explosive offensive game than Fred Jones. However, like someone said...these guys are more than average players, but the Raps can use some complimentary players on the rotation.

I like jones the most out of that list.
Matt Harpring doesnt really fit with what we need
Flip is a bit of a chucker, as stated above
Buckner is a good defender, but we need someone with a litte bit of offense as well...with CV31 gone there's a whole in the offense.
House i dont think would be good at all...he's not what we need and i dont see him having the same kind of effectiveness outside of Pheonix

    Jones please

Here I am! thanks for all your votes of confidence! haha! anyways with guys on the list I'd go with Jones. He is better than flip b/c he plays in control a bit more and is more athletic....dunk contest anyone? Personally tho, if I was Colangelo I'd go out and sign Deshawn Stevenson. No one is talking about this guy and he brings youth, athleticism, and defence to the 2 spot. He was probably the magic's best perimeter defender last year and seeing as he was drafted out of highschool, should be around the age where he comes into his own and excels ala Jermaine O'Neal, I'm not saying he'll ever be an allstar tho. That is who I'd look at as a FA

Jones is the most preferred, but he's also the least likely to be available. Obviously if Colangelo feels that he can be had, I'm all for it. Otherwise, I'm hoping for Flip Murray/Jared Jeffries for the 2/3 and Jackie Butler to back up Rasho.

i think jones might be the one to be had -considering that indiana's going in a different direction as indicated by the guard/ sf they drafted this past draft. plus, it seems like they are in hot pursuit of al harrington, so i see jones to be had if colangelo thinks he fits.

If Colangelo's really trying to emulate the Phoenix Suns, Murray or House would work best. Both can shoot the ball with range and are instant offense. Jones is alright, but I think he has flaws defensively and isn't as capable of a shooter as House or Murray.

Out of those guys I think I would rather have Jones. Murray and House showed this year in the playoffs that if their shot isn't on, they're pretty much useless.

If I was a Raptors fan, I'd want Ronald Murray the most, he's the most proven of the bunch, he backed up Ray Allen in 2003-2004 when Allen was injured extremely well, averaging 12.4ppg and putting up over 1,000 points for the season. He also averaged 13.5ppg for Cleveland last season.

He can score and....that's it. Pass on the one dimensional players.

^^ Perhaps that's what BC wants? A shooter coming off the bench to just score and ignite the offense.

I would also perfer Jones as well.
