<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">eanwhile, plenty of competition has cropped up in the Mavericks' pursuit of Raptors guard Mike James, arguably the top free-agent guard left on the market. The Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets , among others, are pursuing the 6-2 guard, who averaged 20.3 points for Toronto this season. Because of the high interest, James and agent Bill Duffy appear to be in no hurry to accept the Mavericks' offer of their $5 million mid-level exception, or any other offer. </div> Full Story guess the mavs are trying to get James free and clear. the daniels deal obviously isnt happening, because this confirms their intrest in James. Our only hope is that James wants more money then the mid-level exception, and the mavs will HAVE to give us a player in return if James decides thats where he wants to go
no way he accepts the mid level for a team where he'll probably be a backup...this guy sees himself as a starter and allstar..he probably wont get that on a team as loaded as the mavs
We're in a pretty good position if James continues to expect an unrealistic amount of money. If he demands more than the mid-level, most teams will be forced into the sign-and-trade. We just have to hope he doesn't lower his value too much.
knowing sports agents these days, he's obviously gonna hear about how he can "get more", and im sure he agrees
