[imgl]http://realgm.com/images/nba/4.2/profiles/photos/2006/Harrington_Al_atl.jpg[/imgl]Atlanta Journal-Constitution - The Al Harrington era in Atlanta is close to becomming officially over. The Hawks are actively looking to complete a sign and trade deal, possibly involving Indiana or Golden State.

"As of right now it's pretty clear to me that I won't be back in a Hawks uniform next year," Harrington said by phone Monday afternoon from his offseason home in Los Angeles. "It's pretty much a wrap for me there.

"I have a genuine interest in both of those teams," he said. "My only focus is getting back to the playoffs and eventually competing for a championship. I thought we were getting better and heading in that direction [in Atlanta], but sometimes it's time to move on." [READ]</div>

Man, I hope it's not here... unless its a bench signing. The type of contract moves being made sound like he's a possible starter for us. [IMG]

I think we need more pure position players and more ball movement and not less.

He's a good player, but do we want another Jamison type player?? Maybe he's only telling the papers that the W's are in the mix in hopes of Indiana offering more$$$?

How ironic. Mullin sent Dampier and Jamison for Foyle and Dunleavy, and now he is trying to reinforce both positions by drafting worse version of Dampier (POB) and Jamison (Harrington).

I really don't see this happening though, unless sign-and-trade deal includes either Foyle or Dunleavy, we just don't have money to sign Harrington. Besides, I don't know where he will fit in...

Its Murphy for Harrington. Harrington's not bad. He's got some moves and is young. I really don't see him stagnating the offense. The Hawks had none.

I really missed Jamison, Dampier and Arenas. If they can be Warriros instead of Dunleavy, Murphy and Foyle, surely we can win the championship next year.
