[imgl]http://realgm.com/images/nba/4.2/profiles/photos/2006/Garnett_Kevin_min.jpg[/imgl]Daily Southtown - As part of the Ben Wallace agreement, the Bulls are believed to have promised to continue their pursuit of Minnesota Timberwolves star forward Kevin Garnett, according to Paul Ladewski of the Daily Southtown.

The Bulls believe they can revive the talks if they sweeten their offer of center Tyson Chandler and forward Luol Deng with recent first-round draft pick Tyrus Thomas, whom the Timberwolves are known to covet.

Another possibility is a trade with the Denver Nuggets , who re-signed center-forward Nene to a six-year, $60 million deal recently. The contract was similar to the extension that Chandler received last summer. [READ]</div>

If the Bulls do want Garnett, they would have to win within the next couple of years, because Wallace and KG are already over 30. And trading 3 young guys that could become something... well Deng and Thomas. Who knows about Chandler now. I don't want Deng and Thomas to leave the Bulls right now.

I don't know, we're talking about KG here. The only player I'd be reluctant to part with is Luol Deng. The TWolves can take Chandler, and Tyrus Thomas is a player I'm not very high on and is a couple of years away from contributing.

You bring in KG you know exactly what you're getting each night. I don't think there's a hungrier player in the league who wants a title. KG brings production on both ends of the court.

I don't see any team in the East getting in there way for the next 3 or 4 seasons.

    Wallace
    Garnett
    Nocioni
    Gordon
    Hinrich

Get out of town. We would take the east with that lineup.

Like others have said, if they try to go through with this trade, it is obvious that they are trying to win right now. Personally, I believe that they WOULD win right now. I could see a championship in the next 2-3 years for them if this trade went through.

As much as I want to win right now, I don't want to lose immediately following either. The last time we won with Michael, the team was practically disassembled (Rodman, MJ, Scottie left)....and, well we saw what happened. So as important as winning may be, losing later (by later I mean in the next few seasons) makes me a little reluctant to pull this. I love KG, but I don't want to have to give up both Deng and Thomas.

I doubt this happens. This has been as much a part of Bulls basketball over the last few years as the actual players on the roster have been. The rumor always pops up, but nothing ever happens. I don’t think Paxson wants to move Tyrus Thomas, and I don’t think he will. This is a huge moral choice though Paxson has to ask himself. Does he want to sacrifice the future of the franchise to win a couple titles now? Then start the rebuilding process all over? Because with Ben Wallace and KG’s huge salaries on the roster there is no way we resign our young guys.

i wouldnt really want anything the bulls would offer. Foye, Mccants, Hassell, Davis, and Wright have our 1 2 3 pretty much set. so gordon and hinrich would cause a logjam of not that much better players. and Chandler, tyrus, and deng would require like 3 first round picks imo. i dont even think that the bulls would win the title with that team. so i dont really want to see this happen. KG would finally get a center, but gordon isnt exactly a solid running mate for him.

If there is nothing on the Bulls you would be interested in please tell me what team has something you would be interested in? Superstar for superstar trades are rare in the league these days. The Bulls have compiled more young talent then arguably anyone in the league. I think a Chandler, Deng, and Tyrus Thomas deal is good for the Wolves if there looking to rebuild, which by trading KG they would be doing. There is no question the Bulls become the number one favorites for a title if they get KG in my mind. They have two all stars in the front court. A guy who averaged 20 and 9 last season in the playoffs at the four, Ben Gordon who also averaged 20 points in the playoffs and 17 this season, and Kirk Hinrich one of the best young point guards in the league. Not only that, but they got depth with Duhon and Selofosha off the bench.

The bulls guards are just too streaky to me. i love the bulls team, and have been supporting them since the jordan days, but I want kg to have an all-star guard. i would want some of the bulls guards, but like i said, they would just create a logjam, so tyson and tyrus are the only intriguing pieces to me. when does chandlers contract run up btw? if its soon, and some first rouders are involved, then i my like this. but with kg your first rounders would suck, lol

As a Magic fan I am hoping this doesn't happen. I don't wanna deal with Chicago in the playoffs.

I agree with the thought that I wouldn't care much for losing all our young talent but KG is rather tempting. They'd have about a 3-4 year window with KG and Wallace and after that it'd be back to the drawing board. The only way that doesn't happen is that we can somehow manage to keep Thomas and still do this trade. That way we have our future waiting in the wings. Either that or we draft our future next year with the Knick pick.

They were streaky, but it was Deng and Gordon's 2nd season. Hopefully after expirence they will start being more consistant. Gordon still did great during the playoffs and during the season looking at his average.

Like SP23 said the reason his consistency was not there was because it was only his second season in the league. It also varied, because his minutes per night varied. Depending how Skiles felt about how he was playing defense on a certain night Gordon will play 40 minutes one day and then the next only 20. Hopefully Gordon improves his defense some so Skiles has more faith in him. I fully expect Gordon to average around 20 points next season.

Without question this would pencil in the Bulls for the finals, but what does it do for their future? In my mind, the Bulls will make a strong push at free agents, without destroying their young core, and see what they can do in that area. If that doesn't work, and Paxson feels that this team won't go to the Championship, he might pull the trigger on this deal. He knows he only has 2-3 more years out of Big Ben and with KG on board they can make a run now.

this trade is not going to happen. KG will be stuck in Minnesota for the rest of his career. [IMG]

I can't see this happening. Awesome if it did, but I don't wanna lose Deng either.
