Gay-Battier Trade?

    I might just be out of the news, but whats with the Gay-Battier trade and how come it hasn`t been official yet? On July 12th can the trade go through?

    Stromile Swift is in that deal, but he is refusing to go to Memphis. As of now the trade is void until changes are made.

    That is false and pure speculation.

    There are BYC restrictions in Battier's contract that doesn't allow his contract's full worth to be valid until July 12th.

    Precisely. The trade will be announced on July 12th, just as when the other deals will be announced officially. It's funny how people think that Swift holds that much leverage as to if a deal will pass or not [​IMG] He either reports or gets suspended without pay, it's his choice.

    Battier's contract does not allow him to be traded until July 12th. So that means that the trade cannot be official until then. When July 12th comes..(7 more days).. Then the trade will be announced and will be official. So on July 12th.. Battier can be officially traded as his contract says.. So just wait till July 12th and then it will be official. This trade could've happened on draft day, but Battier's contract says he cant be traded until July 12th.
