A 6-6, 200-pound guard, Paxson finished his career with averages of 14.3 ppg, 2.9 apg, 2.0 rpg, and shot .498 from the field and .807 from the line. He scored 11,999 points and became the first Trail Blazer to score 10,000 points. In 53 career playoff games, he tallied 10.5 ppg, 1.9 apg and 1.0 rpg. He was traded to the Boston Celtics on Feb. 23, 1988, where he played the final two-plus years of his career before retiring at the end of the 1989-90 season. I don’t see the point in this move really. Paxson doesn’t need help, or to consult someone, at least his moves say he doesn’t. Good for Jim Paxson though.
