I didn't get to watch all the Utah games.. but I do follow Deron Williams because he went to Illinois. I want D-Will to develope, and I don't really want him to split time with Fisher.. And they just drafted Dee Brown... who I will also follow lol.
**** i like fisher...... he can produce and is quite clutch. but like you said, do we need another pg?
he's better suited at 2 guard, he doesn't handle the ball very well, or run the offense, but he can knock down shots and is an attractive option at the end of the game, he won a couple for the Warriors, and everyone remembers .4. I think this is a great pick up for the jazz, although his defense will be very frustrating.
Another pg? Wow, you guys are going to have a logjam the way it's looking. However, seeing as how Dee Brown was a 2nd round pick, there's no guarantee he makes the squad (seeing as how 2nd rounders don't get guaranteed contracts). I could also see you guys moving DFish to the 2 spot, but he's undersized to play that spot. He's only 6'2". However, with his ability to knock down shots, you never know.
I like this move actually. Trading Devin Brown opens room for Brewer to play the SG spot. Fisher gives Utah both a reliable backup, a leader on the floor, and some nice outside shooting. Dee Brown isn't really a good enough backup for you not to make a trade like this, and Brewer isn't strictly a PG, he can play the 1-3.
I'm sure Williams and Fisher will see a lot of time on the court together. Either can run an offense, both can shoot and Fisher can guard the smaller PGs while Williams can guard the taller, bulkier guards.
Fisher is a great 2 guard. He is one of the best catch and shoot guard from any range, agressive and will produce. However, you do not want him to control the ball and make him to play PG role. He is horrible at setting up teammates and often times, he will charge to 7 footer center, hoping for a miracle layup. As long as he can be controlled and be used right, he will be a great asset for Jazz...
Nice trade. If Keith McLeod and Devin Brown were to come back for the Jazz next season, they would have had limited roles. Andre Owens wasn't expected to return. Fisher will give Utah a 3 point threat, which they lacked. He makes the Jazz stronger at PG, and his experience should help.
