They acquired Jones, a second-round pick, from the Timberwolves on draft night. The 6-7 forward will receive the rookie minimum of $412,718 for the coming season, with an option - and perhaps some guarantee - for a second season. Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the minimum for a second season would be $664,209. He's not likely to have much fantasy value this season. </div>

I bet when people saw this thread on the main page of the forums("Sixers agree to terms with") they got excited that we signed some free agent.

Having him for the next couple years at the rookie minimum is a big steal for us. He will come in, and be an immediate factor on the defensive side of the ball.

Honestly I can see this kid getting some playing time early and often. He's a type of player that I think Mo will absolutely love when he watches him because he knows how to play defense and only defense. He shouldn't have any problem finding any playing time off the bench.

I don't follow collegiante basketball like that, and you guys seem to make it like he's one of the best defenders in this draft class but WE WAS STILL ABLE TO GET HIM? What is this guy ANOTHER project player or an immediate impact type guy? Again it seems we are putting a significant amount of hope on this guy.

Here is a profile of Bobby Jones from nbadraft.net:
    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">
    NBA Comparison: Bruce Bowen

Strengths: Big, athletic guard that can really defend on and off the ball...One of the best defensive shooting guards in college basketball...Tough as nails...Excellent rebounder for his size...Led UofW in rebounding last season...Gifted athlete who runs and jumps with the best of them... Tremendous lateral quickness...Great basketball IQ "Plays within himself" and a motor that doesn't stop... Great in transition and finishes well at the rim... Rapidly improving his jump shot and outside game...Wants the ball in crunch time and hit many big shots for the Huskies...An all out hustler who plays with the kind of intangibles that coaches love.

Weaknesses: Ball handling needs to improve to play the 2 at the next level...Moving without the ball... Free-throw shooting...Often foul prone, may be because of his aggressive defensive style, but still fouls out too often...Needs to continue to improve outside shot... Not enough attempts to determine how well he really shoots from the perimeter yet and does not have NBA range at this time.</div>

This guy could have an immediate impact on the defensive end, which will get him playing time and help him develop on the offensive end also. I think he could be the steal of the draft.
