<div class="quote_poster">Quoting UKFan33:</div><div class="quote_post">The USA went 4-0 at the FIBA America's Championship winning each game by a minimum of 22 points. http://www.usabasketball.com/men/2006/06_M...urn_game15.html http://www.usabasketball.com/men/2006/06_mu18_results.html http://www.usabasketball.com/men/2006/06_mu18_USA_stats.html</div> I didn't even know this was going on. NBA TV or some other station should really cover these type of events. Anyway, I'm not surprised in the least that America went 4-0. Just look at the other team's rosters. Brazil was missing Rafael Luz, Paulao Prestes, Bruno Ferreira, Tiago Negrizolli, Jhonatan Luz Dos Santos, Douglas Nunez, Vitor Tatsch, and Caio Torres; all U-18 eligible players who have NBA potential. Argentina was missing Matias "the next Ginobili" Nocedal as well as one or two other NBA-caliber prospects. How can we take these games seriously when we send our best competition and these nation sends a random group of scrubs? Anyway, I'm surprised that Michigan State recruit Chris Allen did so poorly after an apparently well-rounded, dominating performance in game one against Uruguay. Then he didn't even play in game four. Was he injured? Duke recruit Taylor King also showed up big time, at least from what the stat sheet would lead you to believe. I can't figure out why some HS recruiting websites have dropped him as low as #40. He's been absolutely dominating the competition for the last three years, playing for two powerhouses in Mater Dai HS and the AAU's SoCal All-Stars. I've even personally seen him and he looked extremely impressive; he showed that he could stroke it from anywhere on the court, but he was also great in the post and great on the boards. From all I've seen, he's got legit Wooden-award type potential on the collegiate level.
Duke has some killer prospects in their 2007 class playing in the Under 18 Games in Taylor King and Nolan Smith. Lance Thomas didn't fair to well in the tournament, but he will be a immediate contributor to Blue Devils this season. And i've heard that 2007 prospect Kyle Singler(this kid has tremendous range and can stroke it from three) has Duke very high on his list. It's looking like Duke will be loaded for the next couple years.
