Last season, we were a high-scoring team and one of the few teams to average more than 100. If Mike James heads out, that's 20+ points gone right there, take away the possible dozen that Bonner, who was probably our best bench player (before Charlie became a starter) would pour in. I'm hoping that Peterson gets better after he quietly had his breakout year and that Bargnani has a nice start to his career by averaging at least 15ppg. T.J. and P.J. are hardly scorers...Charlie and his 13ppg is gone. Are we going to have another season where we struggled to get the free pizza for the people? Or can we improve our defense enough to counter the decrease in points?
^^^ That is not how it really works. With the removal of James and Charlie other current Raptors will have their PPG increase. With those two out of the picture, Mo, Graham, Calderon will have more touches. What may drop is our percentage though. However, one could argue that with TJ Ford, we will get better looks and though individual talent has decreased, a good PG such as TJ Ford can improve the play of those around him. Our percentage and scoring may be even higher then last year. If we expect the guys on this current roster to not have the ability to improve, then yes.....we may drop considerably in PPG however. I think it is anyones guess as to how our scoring machine will operate. Way too many variables. What we are now is a basketball team. We have the correct pieces in place, we just need fillers.
you'd have to think it's bound to drop but not too much. Yes we lost James and Charlie, but we gained TJ Ford which should help our ball movement a lot and help get people better shot opportunities. Or can we improve our defense enough to counter the decrease in points?</div> I think our pizza chances this year are about average ... in future years we may be able to bankrupt pizza pizza with all our offensive firepower once we fully implement a fast break style offense and everyone has had some time playing it. I'd be shocked if we improved that much on defense, Sam Mitchell does not seem like he has the ability to teach our club how to play solid D. That's ok though for now, because we should be able to compensate at the offensive end. I think that we should see a slight improvement in D (now that we have Rasho) but not too much else ... even if he's totally ineffective - he's taking up space which is more than we could say about anyone else playing C for us previously. Getting a few more boards a game would help our defense a lot too.
How can you say PJ Tucker is not a scorer when he averaged 17ppg in his final season? That was more than Aldridge. Screw the experts with their heights and positions...if you're a baller and can put the rock in the hole then you will be able to to that at the next level. I'm not saying he will ever avg 17 in the nba, i'm saying he has the ability to score.
It depends on the pace. We have efficient enough scorers that if we play a fast pace, we will score a lot.

Offense won't be a problem with Toronto. TJ Ford, Bosh, Bargnani, Peterson...all can score and the team will employ a fast-break style. The Raptors' Achilles heel will be defense.
If anything the toronto raptors new team will have a higher scoring average. Chris bosh probably has physically matured better, Graham probably has improved Mo pete is still mo pete and we bargnani can come in and verage 15pts and TJ FORD comes in he is the key. He can get everyone wide open shots and a lot more lay ups and dunks and we will be running even more. We could be like a better version of the phoenix suns because Mo pete and graham can play defence. BUt it should be higher because there will be a lot more lay ups and dunks.
