Reported on another board after being broadcasted on Sirius satellite Radio that the Lakers and the Bobcats are discussing a trade that would send Chris Mihm and Brian Cook to Charlotte for Brevin Knight and Matt Caroll.

I've been pretty accurate on rumors so far this off-season, so I'm not making them up. Our starting rotation would be:

    Brevin Knight/Smush Parker/Jordan Farmer
    Kobe Bryant/Matt Caroll/Sasha Vujacic
    Vladimir Radmanovic/Luke Walton/Maurice Evans
    Lamar Odom/Ronny Turiaf
    Kwame Brown/Andrew Bynum

Mitch yes Mitch Kuptchak is really working this offseason isn't he? I hope we get Brevin Knight. Who in Gods green hell is Matt Caroll? Not the comedian is it? Anywho, I don't think he's going to be Jesus' backup Did you forget Mo Evans?

That's an excellent trade I think. Brevin Knight is an experienced player and he is a great POING GUARD first and foremost and can come in a help our team right away. Although it will be sad to see Chris Mihm go, Kwame did show last year that he can hold down the center position as well and I do believe Kwame will continue to get more confident as his career goes on because he himself realizes now what he is capable of. Pleas ethough, Kwame, put on some gloves when you're playing basketball. How hard is it to catch a basketball?
Anyway, I think Knight will be a great upgrade over Smush pending this trade comes into fruition. I don't know who Caroll is and I'm not really surprised about the Cook part of the trade as Vlad is a much better alternative to him anyway.

I believe Ely is also in on the deal. Throw McKie in there as well.

Well I am not being bias here at all, but I am looking at it from both points.

    Lamar Odom/Ronny Turiaf
    Kwame Brown/Andrew Bynum

Those are the only 4 big men you have when you trade Mihm and Cook away. (I know Cook is more of a small forward, but he does play power forward as well.) I think that instead of getting another point guard, although one is needed deeply, they should be looking to get another big with Knight.

WEll if Ely is in the trade then that would give us a PF/undersized C...and Caroll..well Caroll is a shooter...thihnk Steve Blake type shooter..3pt line and mid range....he cant create his own shot, but with Knight and Kobe setting him up it wont be that hard to get an open shot...but as Kobe's immediate backup? I doubt it

I like it that we get brevin but i dont like the fact we have to give up two bigs. it really makes us weak down low.

That's what I'm thinking. A lot of people won't agree, but Mihm is a 7'0 C who can give you 10-12 points a night, and some nights 13-16. Cookie can come in the game and hit shots at will, although he can also disappear. A lot of people underrate their value, if we could get another big in the deal, such as Melvin Ely, I'd be more open to it. I just like the fact of having Brevin teaching Farmer and starting over Smush.

yea i mean I can see Knight helping the Lakers. However, I'm sure there are better deals out there for Mihm and Cook. Both players are legitimate offensive players. We just have to be patient, even if that means holding out on a deal untl the february deadline. The worst thing Mitch can do is jump the gun

I hope this trade is not on Mitch's menu, bad trade. You trade a 7 footer for a 5'11?? [IMG] If the Bobcats include another big, then I go for it.

I personally would like to hold onto at least Mihm. He gives us a good backup to Kwame in the frontcourt and makes it so we don't have rush Bynum next year. He's also the best shot blocker we currently have. Without him coming off the bench doing that, we could be the worst shotblocking team in the NBA next year.

Im with everyone who said we should keep Mihm. Unless we can get something out of this world using Mihm as tradebait, I think we should keep him. Our bench actually looks pretty deep this coming season.

Mihm seems to be leaving LA, and we need that vet PG, so Knight is a good choice. However, I think we should perhaps trade away McKie and Sasha along with Mihm for Knight and Ely.

how, if anything he's underrated. he has been on eof the leagues leaders in assists for the last few years, yet isnt even close to being mentioned as some of the top pg's in the league. not to mention he is a very good defender despite his size.

Can anybody explain to me why Charlotte even considers this trade? Mihm is solid, but Knight is way more valuable. It's easier to find a one-dimensional player and a C that gives you a solid 10-7 than a pass first pure PG that averages over 8.5 APG and plays good defense.

Way more value than a PG who gives you 9 assists per night, and is # 2 in assists per turnover? Yeah right, I would do this with just Knight alone. This trade is the best I've seen in a while. We can always sign a cheap big or trade for one. Brevin freaking Knight on the Lakers would be a dream come true.

Can't tell you how much I love watching this guy play as well. He is so unselfish it isn't funny.

Carroll isn't that bad. He can shoot the 3, has the heart and hustle, and does some dirty work on the side. He is also pretty young.

If we get this trade, Bobcats would be pretty dumb. Though this is what they need really but not at the cost of Knight. A Big that can block, and a solid shooter.

If anything he is underrated like many others said.

Guys Brevin Knight is a godsend if we get this. He has defense at the PG, which we needed, he can shoot and is unselfish. A lot of you saying no to this trade and saying " a 7 foot for a 5' 11'' ? " makes me think you don't even know who Knight is.

I'm with Bobcats on this one, what would make Charlotte consider this trade? Mihm, averaging a mediocre 10/6 won't be as valuable as Knight putting up 8.8 assists. Also, for a seven-footer Mihm doesn't play with the defensive intensity that would make him a fit on Charlotte's frontline. Brian Cook is simply a perimeter-oriented big man who you can kick an open three to here and there. He doesn't really compensate for the loss of Brevin Knight either. I think Brevin Knight is the perfect fit for the Bobcats. They are the youngest team in the NBA and Knight is the type of veteran leader to lead the team. Raymond Felton can also learn a thing or two under his tutelage.

Knight on the Lakers is an excellent fit for the team. He plays great defense, takes care of the ball, and knows who to give the ball to. With no ego and issues sharing the rock, Laker fans shouldn't be complaining about a possible acquisition of Brevin Knight.
