I like BK myself, he's always given us trouble as a team, but I believe PJ generally doesn't like using small PG's..
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MrJ:</div><div class="quote_post"> Knight on the Lakers is an excellent fit for the team. He plays great defense, takes care of the ball, and knows who to give the ball to. With no ego and issues sharing the rock, Laker fans shouldn't be complaining about a possible acquisition of Brevin Knight.</div> Exactly. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting MrJ:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm with Bobcats on this one, what would make Charlotte consider this trade? Mihm, averaging a mediocre 10/6 won't be as valuable as Knight putting up 8.8 assists. Also, for a seven-footer Mihm doesn't play with the defensive intensity that would make him a fit on Charlotte's frontline. Brian Cook is simply a perimeter-oriented big man who you can kick an open three to here and there. He doesn't really compensate for the loss of Brevin Knight either. I think Brevin Knight is the perfect fit for the Bobcats. They are the youngest team in the NBA and Knight is the type of veteran leader to lead the team. Raymond Felton can also learn a thing or two under his tutelage. </div> Well Mihm and Cook are young and the Bobcats are a rebuilding team. However stupid the trade for the Cats it may be because they want more young talent.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post"> You want to explain why?</div> He's 5-10, old, injury prone and cant hit a jumper! What has he done in his career before joining the Bobcats? He's a good PG for an expansion team to mentor the young kids until they become starters..Not a good choice for a playoff or championship team unless he comes off the bench. Lakers can't give up Mihm and Cook to get him in return.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting VinsanityVC15:</div><div class="quote_post">I like it that we get brevin but i dont like the fact we have to give up two bigs. it really makes us weak down low.</div> Agreed. Who does that leave yall with then? Brown and Odom would start, I guess, and I suppose the Lakers are highly confident in Turiaf and Bynum to contribute significantly this season. Adding Knight would help, but he's small, aging and cant shoot. He can run an offense though. Carroll is a nice shooter but I thought Cook provided mismatch problems with his ability to shoot so well at his size.

I don't know where you get the idea he can't hit a jumper though.... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He's 5-10, old, injury prone and cant hit a jumper! <div class="quote_poster">Quoting whatthef?:</div><div class="quote_post">cook=radman, same player, check last years stats. But don't give up on Mihm.</div>They may have relatively the same skill set, but Cook still gives us depth, and a guy who can come off the bench and score points in a hurry. Beyond that, you never trade big for small in this league, especially if you're the Lakers. They're already pretty weak in the PF/C spot, and if we trade both Cook and Mihm and got no big guy in return, that'd leave us with Turiaf and Bynum off the bench, two second year players who still haven't developed on offense enough to be able to rely a lot on. It would also force us to use Odom and Kwame a lot, or playing Luke or Vlad out of position to give one of them a rest. So, while you may see Cook and Vlad as the same player, I see Cook as a guy that can come in and give one of our bigs some rest and give us offense in a hurry.

What player besides Steve Nash and maybe Jason Kidd could average over 9 APG on an expansion team? Brevin Knight is a player every team in the league would love to have. The Lakers are going to have to do better than Chris Mihm and Brian 'I can't do anything besides shoot' Cook.
