<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Reaching the second round of the playoffs should be a cinch for the Bulls now that they are adding All-Star center Ben Wallace. That's the prediction of former Bulls star Charles Oakley, the former 19-year NBA veteran who discovered Wallace at his 1991 basketball camp in York, Ala. ''The Bulls are getting an architect and a strong builder in Ben Wallace,'' Oakley said. ''They're getting a guy who can design, draw, build and make things better. They had to spend money to get the best, they spent money and they're going to get every cent of the value of the money they spent. ''Winning a championship takes time, and it's a step every year. This deal was made for the end of the year. They've made it back to the playoffs but been stuck in first round the last couple of years. Now, they should make it to the second or third round, maybe even the Finals.'' Oakley and his longtime friend, Jeff Warner, have seen Wallace come a long way since he was that 6-4, 170-pound, 11th-grader in the camp Warner helped Oakley run. ''When I first saw him, he showed me athleticism, a quickness to the ball and a toughness to convince me that he could make a living playing basketball,'' Oakley said.</div> http://www.suntimes.com/output/bulls/cst-spt-oak07.html
I think we can make it to the finals, best-case scenario, this season. However, I do not think we can win the title this season. We will give any team a fight, but we need one more piece to compete in the finals with the team that comes out of the western conference. If it is the Suns they might run us out of the building with their scoring.

The defense, which was good last year, should be even better this year with a veteran frontcourt of Brown and Wallace. The offense should be better this year too, now that Ben Gordon has nearly a full season of starting under his belt. Kirk will also do well once again, Deng will again be good, same with Noc. And, beyond that, seeing as how Thabo played in the pro leagues overseas, there's a great chance he could be the Andres Nocioni of this year, coming in and producing for us immediately. All in all, we should have more than enough offense to compliment our defense. However, I disagree with your statement about the Suns running us out of the building. Dallas showed that they can be shut down. Also, with Amare returning this year, you have to figure that the pace of the game should be slowed a little big to compliment his power game. Than you have to realize we have someone who can now stop him in Wallace. So, I wouldn't say the Bulls would be screwed if they drew the Suns for the Finals.
I believe we can make it to the finals if we get a post-player. To me Miami isnt all that great their r just over-hyped. But imagine this roster. Starters PG-Kirk Hinrich 6'3 SG-Ben Gordon 6'3 SF-Luol Deng 6'9 PF-(post-player) C-Ben Wallace 6'9 Bench PJ Brown 6'11 Thabo Sefolosha 6'7 Andres Nocioni 6'7 Chris Duhon 6'1 Darius Songaila 6'9 Tyrus Thomas 6'10 Antonio Davis 6'9

I think if he does come back, it will be as a coach rather than a player. He was back in the locker room during the playoffs giving guys advice and some coaching so the role fits him well. I would not be upset if he came back though. In addition, PJ Brown is not a bad offensive player he averaged a double double for a long time in the league last season his stats took a hit a bit because of the development of David West, and injuries, but he can score when called upon.
I agree with BKS. Our post player is PJ Brown. And hopefully, because of him, Tyrus Thomas can pick up a few offensive moves down low and become a legit post player as well. But, with our depth and defense, we have a team that could be very, very, very good next year, and there's no reason to think we couldn't contend.

He's more of a mid range shooter, who puts the ball to the floor wen close to the basket. The Bulls have a overall good defensive frontcourt, with limited offense, but PJ Brown will help them in pick and roll situations, knocking down those open baskets, with more baskets from open touches.
PJ may be more of a midrange shooter, but he can still score in the post. So, while he may not be the greatest post player, he does still have the touch to score around the basket area, giving us something that we need a lot. And if all else, he's a big body to draw attention to him in the paint from the opposing big guys, giving our perimeter players a little more room to penetrate and get open looks.

Okay we have his LSU footage but college and the pros are played differently. I think Big Baby dominated the ball in the middle, so we really never got to see Thomas truely own the post. And him being a freshman while Big Baby Was a vet mean less touches. I mean he played as well as he did just being the cleanup crew.
