He is negotiating an extension with the Celtics right now. If he really did say that (where did those quotes come from?), then he's probably trying to scare Danny Ainge into a larger offer.
I don't think this is out of reach considering Brian Grant's large and unnecessary contract is finally going to be out of the books next season.

forget pierce, let's get lebron he accepted a deal w/ the cavs for only 4 years and 60 million, and he can opt out after the 3rd year. time to save up cap space for 2009-2010!!!
