<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With summer league team practice scheduled to begin in a few days, the Sonics are finalizing negotiations with first-round draft choice Mouhamed Sene and will soon reach an agreement with the No. 10 pick, according to a source with knowledge of the discussions. An announcement is expected as early as today on a four-year deal worth a guaranteed $3.3 million in the first two years under terms outlined in the NBA rookie scale. The 7-foot Senegalese center will highlight a Seattle team that includes just one holdover from the regular season, reserve forward Noel Felix. Other notable players include second-round picks Denham Brown, a 6-6 guard from Connecticut; 6-5 guard Yotam Halperin, the second player ever drafted from Israel; and guard Paccelis "Patch" Morlende, who was taken in the second round of the 2003 draft. Workouts begin early next week for the July 14-21 Rocky Mountain Revue, and there is a chance that one of the practices in Seattle will be open to the public. The Sonics leave for Salt Lake City on Thursday and play the first of six games on Friday. Three games will be televised on NBA TV, but the dates and times of those broadcasts have not been determined. Seattle will be joined in the Revue by Atlanta, Dallas, Philadelphia, San Antonio and Utah. Assistant Ralph Lewis will coach the Sonics and Detlef Schrempf is the lead assistant, but the entire coaching staff and a handful of front-office executives will supervise workouts and games.</div> http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/soni...900_soni07.html
I was under the impression that Sene would stay overseas. How many roster spots are left after he is signed?

Add in Denham Brown, Mickael Gelabale and Danny Fortson and there's your 14. Wouldn't mind a third point guard though.
I think it's strange that we don't release Danny Fortson. Even if he can play, he's not going get any PT because of the young guns.
We are probably shopping him around because of his expiring deal - if we don't find a suitor by the start of the season, I think he probably will be released, although he would be a handy piece to have come trade deadline.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Seattle SuperSonics today announced they have signed first round draft pick Mouhamed Sene. The Sonics selected Sene with the 10th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. "We’re glad to get Mouhamed on board," Sonics General Manager Rick Sund said. "His participation in this month’s summer league in Salt Lake City will give him a feel for the NBA and he can begin to get acclimated to the style of play." An early-entry candidate for the draft, Sene garnered the attention of the basketball community at the 2006 Nike Hoop Summit, when he recorded 15 points, six rebounds and nine blocked shots in 27 minutes of action. He spent the 2005-06 season with Verviers-Pepinster of the Belgium Division I League. Sene also participated in the Reebok Eurocamp in Treviso, Italy in both 2004 and 2005. "We’re excited to sign Mouhamed," said Sonics Head Coach Bob Hill. "With his ability to block shots and rebound, we hope he can give support to Robert Swift and Johan Petro to improve our defense in the paint." </div> http://www.nba.com/sonics/news/sene060710.html
