Yeah it would have been impossible to get Ben Wallace while keeping our young core intact and still having our cap money for 2007. Our franchise is building a young team capable of bringing us a championship(s) in a few years.

 

Why would we need Ben Wallace anyway? We have Darko and Dwight, with a veteran like Battie backing them up.

 

I think Ben Wallace is way overrated now. Before he was a cheap defensive stud and now he is a very expensive veteran who is one dimensional.

 

Yeah, it's not like he needs to take Darko's place again. It was rumored that he had a desire to come back here, but we don't need him here.

 

I must say, it is good to see players wanting to come here though.

 

From what I heard, Ben Wallace was not going to allow the Pistons to sign and trade him. The Pistons attempted with the 76ers and another squad, but Wallace would not agree to them. Therefore, I do not think he would have agreed to go to Orlando. Not that Orlando had a dire need for him anyway. With Darko and Howard there front court is pretty much set.

 

That would be dangerous, two monsters... Dwight and Wallace in the frontcourt.

 

Thank god. They finally get some cap space, it would suck if they went and wasted it all away on Ben Wallace.
