Which players are in the summer league for us? Also, discuss about their performances and stats and how the team is doing.
Bargnani ended up with 20 points (7-11) and 4 rebounds in the first summer league game. Good start. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Bargnani was pretty impressive Thursday night. The top pick in last week's NBA draft was confident, aggressive and ready to hoist from the minute he lined up for his first Canadian national anthem. The first time he touched the ball for the Toronto Raptors, set up by a high pick-and-roll, Bargnani put the ball on the deck and went right to the rim, earning a quick trip to the foul line. He also drained his first triple from NBA distance soon after and wound up totaling a solid 20 points for the Raptors, helping to secure a 93-85 victory over the Washington Wizards and looking loose more than anything.</div> http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/stor...marc&id=2511802
We lost 86-79 to Sacramento.. Bargnani had 12 points on 5-8 shooting, but he had 2 boards and 10 fouls = http://www.vegassummerleague.com/box_score.cfm?game=66
Hopefully, that was a typo and it's just 1 foul. We shouldn't be too worried, after all, hoffa got a ton of fouls in summer league play and he turned out just fine I wonder how he picked up most of his fouls ... maybe it was just one of those games ... looks like Graham had 7 fouls as well. It's good to see that Bargnani is still shooting a high percentage. If only they could give him a few more shots and see how he handles constantly being fed the ball. It's better than wasting 14 shot attempts on Chris Humphries.
clearly bargnani can score at the pro level, i think we can safely state that but all the other things, notably defense are a work in progress.
Oh god.. Andre Barrett .. 4-14.. Same with Kris Humphries.. damn ball hogs.. I'm assuming most of those fouls Andrea made came from trying to protect the basket from Martin driving most of the time..
Obviously, he doesn't really know how to play center or the physical game of the NBA, but he will learn.
Im starting to get concerned about Bargnanis rebounding, how are you gonna rebound in the NBA if you get 2 rebounds in summer league when you are a 7 footer, an athletic one...
you should worry..especially he has zero offensive rebounds so far shows how tough he is anyways...i will be attacked again for having no patience, and will be told that bargnani is learning and adjusting and summer league numbers mean nothing etc etc etc but my statement remains as is...bargnani won't contribute until at least 2-3 years from now
I'll hold you to that statement. And when you're proven wrong, I won't stop rubbing it in. Because 3 years is an awfully long time.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting hohoyoyoyo:</div><div class="quote_post">you should worry..especially he has zero offensive rebounds so far shows how tough he is anyways...i will be attacked again for having no patience, and will be told that bargnani is learning and adjusting and summer league numbers mean nothing etc etc etc but my statement remains as is...bargnani won't contribute until at least 2-3 years from now</div> So when Bosh was crapping it up in SL, you had no patience for him? Jeez, give the kid a chance.

NO Summer league counts for nothing, after 3 games you can't even begin to make a statement like that. That's like saying MoPete is over the hill when he has 3 bad shooting nights. If you are gonna say "stuff" like that at least have some valid points and reasoning....don't just blather on making random "silly" comments that aren't really merited
Andrea scored 21 points and added 11 boards in a 77-75 loss the the Warriors. Good to see him get double digits in rebounds.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">So are some of these other guys who are grabbing 10 boards a night gonna keep doing that during the regular season? </div> Actually rebounding is one of the things that normally stays constant for players, so if they get the minutes they actually should be in the range, but they won't get the minutes. James Singelton, Chuck Hayes, and David Lee have all shown to be capable 10 RPG guys in the NBA is they play, and they're the only guys in the double digit range. Brandon Hunter is also in the range too, and PER minute he's shown the capability, and when he has played big he has rebounded. Anyways I'm just being hard on you, you're right though.
