Looked pretty good. Looks like the 2/3 more athletic w/better handles version of Jerome Williams.

He dunked over Stephen Graham... not even Joey... let's not get too excited.

Besides, it's only a summer league game, and he only wound up with six points. To put it in perspective, Sherrod Ford wound up with 18.

Amen to that. I'm not a big fan of Summer League games. Wait until they take off their diapers and step on the floor with the big boys until you judge them. Not because they dunked over someone in a summer league game. It's a good league to determine where your players are as far as development is concerned though, but please don't be going out and buying your Renaldo Balkman jerseys because of this.

In my opinion, outside of a few quality athletic plays here and there you wont get to see Balkman's true worth in summer league and definately not in the box score....because his value will come in his ablity to stick with the league's better scoring wing players those guys arent at summer league and on offsense he is just a finisher but inorder to finish you need the guards that can get you the ball around the rim, Nate Robinson isnt that type of guard, he was out their going pea-can, didnt see a shot he didnt like against the Cavs. So Balkman getting only 6 isnt that bad...I wouldnt focus on points for him, look at the way he contests shots and his defensive pressure ablity, he puts on guys D'ing them up off the dribble...he looked pretty good in both those aspects against Cleveland to me. I didnt get to see the game against PHX yesterday tho.

You tell it like it is, you tell it like it is Voodoo.

Im not impressed with summer league stats, but he still has all season to dissapoint me so I guess I'll get mys hare of shocks and kicks from him. But gotta admit that was a sick dunk, I dont care who its on, it could've been on martha stewarts ass, I still would've said it's a sick dunk.

It was a nice dunk. The second one, a fastbreak two-handed tomahawk, was very Sprewell-esque. Anyway, from that game Balkman played okay. His handle isn't good. When he tried to put it on the floor I remember him getting stripped by Pavlovic. But we won't be using him for offense--we'll need his defensive intensity. He played very solid defense getting a few steals a block and staying in front of his man on a consistent basis.

Still, the summer league isn't close to being a reliable indicator of how a player will perform during the regular season. With that said, struggling during the summer league, which is more or less watered down NBA competition, should be somewhat of an alarming sign.

That first dunk was pretty sick I thought, probally one of the best posterizings I think i've seen.

I think this guy could be a decent bench player, a nice defensive spark to come off the bench for the Knicks, I dont ever see him being great though. He should definatley help add some much needed defense to the roster.

Don't rob him though, he did a good job. Add on to his list of moves: defense and dirty work and you got a solid player.
