I really wanted us to do the Boston trade prior to the draft. A trio of Foye, Green, and Iguodala would have been the best possible core to build upon for the future. Now I do not see the point we would have Carney and Green battling for the same spot so we would either (a) have wasted this year’s lottery pick on a bench player or ( have a player with immense potential (Green) as a back up. It is a lose/lose situation for us unless Iguodala can learn how to play point guard. There is no trade out there right now I am interested in. The Minnesota trade is the one that most interests me as of this point. I really want Foye on the 76ers. He is a future all star in my opinion he has been lighting it up thus far in summer league scoring 29 and 30 in his first two summer league games. Many experts say he and Roy are the most NBA ready players from this class, and most likely to be successful. This would also give AI a shot at a title. Trade Foye, Mccants, and future selections for AI. PS: Atlanta can't trade for AI the judge ruled that they cannot trade/sign players to more than one year deals.
wtF? golden state is offering ANY combination of 3 players? i'd be happy with just richardson, he could play the 2 and iggy could slide up to the 3
Lets go with Golden State. If the article is true and they are willing to give up any combination of three players then send over Jason Richardson, Ike Diogu, and Troy Murphy and A.I. is yours. All the deals look pretty good to me...
Personally I would take the Boston deal. A point guard (I would rather have West or even Rondo than Telfair) plus a rising big man and a player who many think will be a star down the road? Sounds good to me. IMO, if i was taking players from Golden State, it would involve Andris Bedrins or Pat O'Bryant. I think JRich is overrated severely
wtf? golden state is offering ANY? ANY? combination of 3 players? i be happe wit just richardson, we could use him at the 2 with iggy sliding up to the 3
The author is obviously just guessing what teams are offering. If he really knew, then it wouldn't say "or" so many times.
If I was Philly, that Boston offer sounds the best. Ask for Greene, Al Jefferson and Dalonte West. The Sixers get a young post who can score inside and possibly be paired with Webber as an inside-outside post duo; West is a great shooter with speed who can play 2 positions, and Greene has immense potential as an offensive player. The Sixers have enough swingmen (Carney, Iggy, maybe Salmons) so Atlanta's offer doesnt make sense. And GS just isn't offering enough, and their key players have long term contracts.

I’ve asked once, and I’ll ask again: what is the purpose of trading Allen Iverson? I’m not a 76ers fan or an Iverson fan, but I think it would be extremely foolish to trade Iverson, even for young talent, draft picks, money or whatever everyone else has in mind. Allen Iverson is a once in a lifetime type of player. He’s led the league in scoring several times and is a surefire Hall of Fame player when he retires and he’s being discussed to be traded to Boston for the likes of Green, Telfair, and Jefferson? While all three of those players have good potential, I highly doubt that combined those players can ever have as much of an impact on the court as Allen Iverson. The way he, a 6-foot, 165-pound player breaks down defenses so effortlessly even at age 30 is hard to come by. The knocks on his game were his selfishness, field goal percentage, and his turnovers. Last season Iverson averaged 33 points, shot 45% from the field, limited his turnovers to 3.4 and dished out 7.4 assists while playing all but 5 minutes a game. Honestly, what more can he do? He’s always been committed to winning and has been dedicated to the city of Philadelphia throughout his entire career, even during the rough times. Instead of making scenarios to trade him, why not instead build around him? It’s not like it can’t be done, the 76ers went to the Finals in 2001 with Iverson leading the way only to fall to one of the most potent duos of all-time in Kobe and Shaq. Obviously Webber hasn’t worked out and to me the situation is strange. Webber’s value to the 76ers is much, much less than Iverson’s, so why isn’t he the one trying to be traded so desperately? I know the contract and the bum knees make him an issue, but he can still put up 20/10 and his contract ends in two years from now. To make a long story short, Iverson is the most consistent player and not only one of the 76ers best players of all-time, but the NBA’s as well. You don’t just throw him away for players like Green, Telfair, and Jefferson. Even if you look to go in a more youthful direction, I want more talent than those three players. Atlanta’s deal is just as bad. A young player who has shown he has all-star potential should definitely been included in the package, in my opinion. Though Iverson isn’t getting any younger, he’s shown absolutely no signs of declining, so it won’t be a stretch to see him being pretty productive for another five years or so. But bottom line, I’m strongly opposed to the idea of trading Iverson and I think it will come to haunt the organization years down the road.
