<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Boston Herald - Paul Pierce's agent Jeff Schwartz is trying to work out a contract extension for the Celtics' franchise player.

Pierce, who has spent his entire career with the Celtics, has two years remaining on his current contract, but he can opt out of it and become a free agent next summer.

?Put it this way: Paul wouldn?t have me talking with the Celtics unless he wanted to be there,? Schwartz said. ?He?s been in Boston his whole career, and he?s obviously a very competitive person. But he wants to win up there."

Pierce has been very vocal recently about adding a second star to the team, with Allen Iverson being the primary target.</div>

Seems like the only decent players that are available in 2007 now are Antawn Jamison, Mike Bibby, Rashard Lewis, and Josh Howard. I really wanted Pierce but now that he's gone, I say we go after Josh Howard and another role player.

I couldn't really seem him playing for Orlando anyhow.

However, I wouldn't have much complaints if Doc Rivers came back. But we all know thats just wishful thinking.

Much like our Jameer Nelson predictions. [IMG]

I just remembered something. Even if we don't sign any big free agents, the cap room can help us make a big trade. If a team decides to rebuild (like a Vince Carter, Allen Iverson, or Kevin Garnett situation), we will be able to offer a trade where the salaries don't match and we can absorb the incoming players contract. So don't be upset by the dwindling talent in the free agent class. This cap space will end up helping us either way and we're sure to get more than what Steve Francis would have gotten us if we hadn't made the deal.

By the way, thank God for the Knicks, huh? Without them, where would teams dump their big contracts of players past their primes? The Knicks are like the dump for the rest of the NBA. They take all of your trash so that you can move on and fix your team. Thank you Isaiah!

I second that, the Knicks are out to lead the league in payroll every year. Thanks Isaiah for taking our trash and giving us the cap space to improve.
