Marbury attempted to convince Thomas on multiple occasions to coach the team, but it was not until Dolan named Thomas the team's head coach that he finally took the position.

"I wanted him to be the coach before all of this," Marbury said late Saturday. "This is not brand new to me. I used to beg him, 'Why you don't coach? Why you don't coach?' Because I know that he knows how to coach.

Since the firing of Larry Brown, Marbury has taken the high road when talking about his former coach</div>

Probably because he won't criticise him for running the team into the ground.

Good point. but Isaih is good at finding scape-goats when he f's up. He will turn on Star the same way he turned on Brown. If he messes up this year i wouldnt be suprised if he found someone else to take the fall.

Isaiah will be good for Marbury. Thomas employs a wide-open, versatile style of play and thats what Marbury wants. This is THE year for Marbury to prove himself as worthy of wearing a Knicks uniform.

New York is a tough crowd to play in front of and I'm sure Marbury would love to have coach Isiah out there to distract the fans.

Lmao [IMG] you New York fans are the funniest group of fans. I swear I crack up reading some of the stuff ya'll say on here. I actually think the Knicks can be good next year. The more control Isiah puts on the offense, the more they suffer. Just face it, you have a team of free lance players who play better in a free flow atmosphere. If Isiah just let's the team play and not worry about lookin over their shoulders, they could very easily make the playoffs.

I think Thomas is the best coach for this situation. Not just because he put them into this mess and I think he should get them out, but because of his style. He's going to employ a wide open, running style of offense which should, for you guys' sake, hopefully benefit this team. You guys have a lot of young, athletic guys, and I think the biggest problem last year is that they didn't like to play in Brown's methodical, defense first style of offense. Well, now is there chance. They finally get to play an up and down running game, and Isiah better hope they thrive in it, otherwise it's his ass on the line this time.

I agree, with the athletic players we have, getting out in transition should be a staple in our offense. When the Knicks got out and scored 100+ points, they were 15-14. I think that indicates we should have done more running last season.
