WHAT I bet shawn marion has better stats than Wilcox in Pts, Rebounds and Blocks. Why Why would they trade Marion.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Suns called to find out Wilcox's asking price and the Sonics asked for Shawn Marion in return.</div> Right there.
They would want Marion in return for Wilcox. I highly doubt they would get him for Wilcox though. Maybe a bigger trade involving Rashard and others from both teams.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sir Desmond:</div><div class="quote_post">'Offered' insinuates we started talks.</div> Ok, well that was how it was titled on RealGM. Sorry if it was misleading.
The Suns aren't going to trade Marion for Wilcox straight-up, obviously. It wouldn't even work under the cap even if Wilcox signed the deal he wanted. I don't think the Sonics have much to add, though.
Wilcox in Phoenix would be a blessing in disguise for Wilcox. IMO, he'll dominate there, I remember his potential when he was at Maryland, that's where he'll be if he went to Phoenix. But the Suns won't trade Marion......
Denver really screwed things up giving nene 10mil a year..now all the guys are gunna want that much. Wilcox is certainly NOT worth 60 million dollars.
Phoenix don't really have anything else though. They're obviously not going to trade Diaw or Amare, and there's nothing else the Sonics would want. Better to aim high than to settle for less.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting the GOAT34:</div><div class="quote_post">why would phoenix or seattle do that trade?</div> Why does Seattle do that trade? Because they get one of the most talented and versatile players in the league. Why does Phoenix do it? No clue.
It would be nice to have Marion in Seattle, but I doubt this happens straight up. Phoenix also wants Lewis... So...maybe they'll offer a package for Wilcox and Lewis.
Wilcox for Marion? Nice joke.. No way Suns are gonna trade him for Wilcox.. They want a good player alongside with Nash.. Marion is an allstart type player.. Wilcox aint..
Pretty sure that at no stage have the Sonics rung Phoenix and said "we want Marion and we'll give you Wilcox." All the article implies is the Suns rung asking what Seattle would want from them for Wilcox, and we said Marion. Doesn't mean in any way we've offered them that trade, and I can't see anything else we'd want from Phoenix apart from what is untouchable. So think about that before you post the "haha, as if phoenix would do that!!" comments.
