I mean with Amare coming back he probably knew his PT would be limited. I don't even think he will play well in LA because nash won't be there to set him up for shots. So is losing Thomas going to be a problem and is anyone unhappy to see him leave...?
i have a feeling he will mess up in LA. He got the contract he always gets except less but he will end up having a bad season. and than show that he wasnt worth it.

I'm surprised he didn't stay in Phoenix. Ah well, he's suckered yet another team into giving him big bucks.
Im unhappy. He is the reason the Lakers lost to the Suns the first round. I want him in a Suns Uniform when the Lakers come and play the Suns again. Oh well, now he's our neighbor. lol
He's good and a mismatch a 6'10. he can also guard similar players like dirk and radmonavic. But the only reason why the clippers signed him is because radmonavic signed with the lakers.
im not to worried about the signing... he is a graet player in the suns system, but i dont see im prospering in L.A. Amere will be back and with a few role players te suns should coast to the western conference finals
It would have been good for the Suns to keep him, just because he played well with Steve Nash, even though lots of players do, Thomas did very well.
I was a BIG Tim Thomas fan. Without him the Suns would have struggled in the playoffs. With that said he would have been a foolish signing at his asking price. The Suns have Amare, Kurt Thomas, Diaw, and Matrix in the frontcourt. When would Tim Thomas have played??? Kurt Thomas played very well last year as indicated by our record with him as a starter. KT will come off of the bench this season. The Suns obtained a shooter in Piatkowski and are still in need of a combo 1-2, that with Barbosa, can spell Nash more often in the regular season. If the Suns sign Salmons I will be ecstatic (I think he signs with the Raptors). It has been an interesting off-season thus far to say the least. Whatever happens I feel that with Amare we are championship bound in 2006-2007!!!!!!!!!

Tim had a nice playoffs but he's not crucial to the suns success or anything. Stevie made him look better than he is.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting panfolk:</div><div class="quote_post">If they don't get Salmons and a serviceable big the Suns could be decimated with a couple injuries.</div> I am so tired of hearing this garbage said. You name me one team in any sport, in any league, who isn't decimated with a couple injuries! Just one. Hmmm, seems that would apply to say, just about anyone. Why in god's name feel that this is noteworthy in any way? Uh oh, if Steve Nash gets hurt, we're done for! No way! You're kidding! None of us ever thought of that. Now that you've mentioned that, why don't you tell me what Washington would do if Gilbert Arenas got hurt, or what the Lakers would do if Kobe got hurt, or what the Sixers would do if Iverson got hurt, or how about the Sonics if Ray Allen got hurt, or what the Clips would do if Sammy got hurt, and the list goes on and on. Better still, let's, for the sake of arguement, say that some of these teams had a "couple" injuries. What what the Heat do without their "couple" stars? If Shaq and Wade are hurt, oh my god, what do they do?! This ridiculous statement is made before every season about any team, and it always fits, so let's just assume it's a given and not concern ourselves with it. There is no team that, with a "couple" very specific injuries, would survive the season. The big deal is, there are players on any team that cannot be replaced, that's all there is to it. In baseball, there is a stat that the SABREmetrics team came up with called VORP. It stands for Value Over Replacement Player, and it's a useful tool. The higher the VORP, the less likely an average player would be able to make up the value the starter provides. In basketball, the stat would seem applicable as well. Some players just have numbers and abilities that cannot be replaced on the court by any player. Let's drop this nonsense act.

he said he would resign in phoenix on the radio. so given that, i dont miss him at all. sure, just about anyone would take more money and closer to home, but dont tell thousands of fans on air that you will resign when you really wont. thats just poo-poo. hes been notes for being a jerk where ever he is anyways. this just proves it.

I should change it to the Tim Thomas effect, because he does it much better. I think every team should sign him to one year deals so he produces off just that fact. With Amare coming back, I think his loss with have less of an impact, but he still regardless of his mental aspect would have been a solid contributor in whatever minutes he would have gotten. Side note it amuses me when players go to teams that they had beat the previous season in the playoffs.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting purehoops:</div><div class="quote_post">NY Yankees.</div> No harm no foul, I suppose a game like baseball, where every out counts, but teams are large enough to compensate for missing players, really isn't a good example, perhaps I was too quick to judge.
