our lineup is going to be hecktick next year. what do you guys think we will start and end the year with. assuming that we dont sign or trade for another starter 1. James/Foye/Hassell/KG/Blount 2. James/Foye/Ricky/KG/Blount 3. James/Hassell/Ricky/KG/Blount 4. Foye/Hassell/Ricky/KG/Blount i like 1 and 3 the best. also post another one if you can think of something else
i dont think eddie will start, we tried it this year, and he sucked. and i really think that hassell would be a waste on the bench
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Moo2K4:</div><div class="quote_post">PG:Mike James SG:Randy Foye SF:Trenton Hassel PF:Kevin Garnett C:Mark Blount 6th Man:Ricky Davis/</div> this is what i'm hoping for exactly. ricky can give us close to 20 points off the bench which will be a HUGE help. our bench sucked last year, but with jaric THud and ricky coming off the bench we will have a very strong bench. plus eddie g and bracey wright.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dallasdude:</div><div class="quote_post">No playing time for Mccants? Might as well trade him for a backup for KG.</div> He was injured and could possibly miss the entire season. PG - James SG - Foye SF - Hassell PF - KG C - Blount This lineup looks the most balance IMO. Maybe Ricky Davis is the starter to begin the season, but he's valuable coming off the bench and lighting up opposing team's second units.
I don't think Foye will be starting, so I'm going with: PG: Mike James SG: Trenton Hassell SF: Ricky Davis PF: Kevin Garnett C: Mark Blount (or Eddie Griffin??)
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">^^if this is our lineup, i dont see how we cant win our division</div> I actually LoL'd. Lets get real man, as great as that lineup looks on paper, its actually that. That line up features Mike James, self proclaimed NBA All-Star, Ricky Davis - do I really need to dig into how problematic this guy is, Randy Foye - most teams that feature rookies as one of their main weapons don't generally fair well in the win department. Yeah Hassell has proven nice, he excelled the best the season with all eyes on Sam Cassell, Latrell Sprewell and of course Garnett. This line up makes me sick, we go from borderline championship team, to hoping for a playoff spot each year. I will always grant the Wolves a potiental playoff spot with Garnett on the team, but anything more than that is honestly wishful thinking. Now before people come and start shooting flares at me and start saying... Randy Foye could be RoY. Look at C Paul, L James, D Wade. I want to make it clear, while these guys where instant success in the NBA, their team success wasn't all that great. Now with Mike James, who is a good point gaurd, on the squad, the offensive chances that Foye will recieve are diminished to the play style of James in my honest opinion. On a personal note, it sickens me that watching my by far favorite player suffer in such a s***y situation for so long (partly his fault for his contract, but mostly McHale's lackluster moves). I was for so long the most positive T'Wolves supporter, and now I am borderline wanting to see McHale make the ultimate move and just trade Kevin. But hey, lets hope I am wrong, I would love to be proven wrong in everything I have stated, but getting my hopes up for this season to be let down again isn't something I refuse to do.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">I dont care, i am gonna get pumped. KG finally gets descent help, this is all he needs to do good.</div> If you're satisfied with this terrible line up, I am sorry to say, your standards are extremly low. As a fan of the Wolves, it's about time you get expect more. This isn't all he needs to "do good". Garnett isn't 21, 22, 23 anymore, hes a veteran of the L, and is in this to win a championship, not aquire just a playoff spot for satisfaction.
This lineup is good enough imo to be great next year with only one addition. We will just have to see.
Purehoops your being too judgemental. The lineup of <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">PG: Mike James SG: Trenton Hassell or Davis SF: Ricky Davis or Hassell PF: Kevin Garnett</div> right there is a good lineup. The only weak link in that lineup is Mark Blount who I think you guys need to trade for a better big. The best thing you can hope for if you don't get a good big is for Mike James, Ricky Davis, and KG to blend well together and to get some good chemistry going.
I was reading about the KMart to Minny rumor and the this thought crossed my mind, should KG step up this season and finally play center for the TWolves? If you look at the other centers in the West, there really isn't anymore bangers like Shaq around. Most of the Centers in the West are tall, athletic power forwards or bulky stiffs. The only two real big men are Yao Ming and Chris Kaman out West. I don't see any reason why KG can't play the majority of his minutes as the TWolves starting center, which would put Mark Blount's butt on the bench.
^^I've thouht about this for a numer of years, and we ahve never had the pf to do it. Maybe K-Mart is that guy. I would really like to have blount as a backup, and KG would be a plenty effective as a center.
