<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Toronto Star - While the Sixers and Suns are reportedly discussing a sign and trade for guard John Salmons, the Raptors are looking at acquiring the Philadelphia guard to replace Mike James, who has agreed to terms with the Timberwolves. Salmons, according to the sources, is weighing offers between the Raptors and Phoenix Suns and is expected to decide which team to sign with today when the NBA's moratorium on signings is lifted. It's thought the Suns are offering a first-year salary of about $3.7 million (all figures U.S.) ? all they can offer under the league's arcane salary cap rules ? while Toronto, who are desperate to sign Salmons according to sources, can offer a much greater financial package to the 26-year-old guard. However, the Suns are seen as a much more attractive playing situation, having advanced to the Western Conference finals in each of the last two seasons; the rebuilding Raptors may have a more promising future today than they've had in years but they've also missed the playoffs in each of the last four seasons.</div> Full Story i dont know how good he is, but I remember leo picking him as his "gatorade X factor" every time the raps played the sixers last season. he killed us a couple of times. i guess right now, ill take anyone lol
Salmons is a good player. He didn't prove much in his first couple years with the Sixers and he got Summer League MVP a couple times. Good size for a point guard and I think he can still be a good player in the league...
yea i was reading this is chuck swirsky's blogs on raptors.com. he was saying that this is one rumour that actually might come true. salmons isnt that bad, he can contribute off the bench. i think it would be a good pick up.
Haven't been impressed from what I've seen from him. Might be a decent bench player but I would not pay more than 3 million for him.
He's a mediocre player, but can contribute well off the bench...wouldn't mind him being signed by the Raps.
