<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Nets coach Lawrence Frank was describing the point guard. "He has great vision in terms of understanding. He's one step ahead of the play, able to see things develop before they ever happen," Frank said.

"He has great vision, and he's a giver. When you're a giver, people gravitate to you. They like to play with you, and that's a great trait to have."

Sure sounds like Jason Kidd, huh? But Frank was talking about rookie Marcus Williams.

And please, he is not comparing him to Kidd, the sure-bet Hall of Famer. He simply sees traits in Williams that flourish in Kidd.

"He's a pure point guard, a throwback," Frank said.

    The 6-foot-3 Williams agreed.

"I'm a pass-first point guard who likes to get his teammates the ball," he said from Orlando, where the Nets lost yesterday, 91-85, to Miami in the Pepsi Pro Summer League.

"A lot of the guards now, they think scoring is everything. With the guys I've been blessed to be around in high school and college, I've had the opportunity to give them the ball and let them look good." </div>
