Seems like LeBron really started something here. Looks like Bosh's contract is worth 10 million less than LeBron's and Wade's. I thought Bosh would get the max? Oh well, I'm not too concerned. We still have him for the next four years with an option on the fifth. Plus, those 3 years of the contract, we save about 3 million/year that we can spend as opposed to if he signed at 5 years/80 million. Looks like the Raptors will be paying through the nose if Bosh decides to resign with us after this one.
if one these dudes gets injured they would leaving guranteed money on the table. and wade is simple- we all know that lebron is the trendsetter for business side of the industry.
All of them have been following what LeBron did so far. I think if one of them gets injured they will still get a huge deal because the teams know what they can do and the players wouldn't accept less.
I think it depends on if the Cavs dont win a Championship Lebron will walk. Wade is a lock for Miami. For Bosh im not sure what this means maybe if the Raptors become contenders and have a shot at the CHampionship...
Lebron really screwing over some franchises here lol. I was estatic when I head Wade was gonna sign for 5 years and them boom he signs for 3. I
You can't blame these guys. They're looking out for themselves, I would've did the exact same thing in their positions. Nice to see CB4 leave some cap for future endeavours though, I wonder why he didn't get a max offer?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chutney:</div><div class="quote_post">So how come Carmelo signed for all 5 years?</div> Because he can't give up gurantee money like that, since he doesn't have endorsement money like LeBron, and maybe he's just really commited to Denver. I really don't know why Bosh would do it, but I guess he figures he can get max money still with the huge market for bigs now (Martin, Nene, Boozer all far from franchise players get max/close to max contracts). He has a PO for the 5th year though.

It is nice to Bosh take a little less, I think he understands that would ultimately help the team more allowing them to sign others to help him win. These 3 year deals with the player 4th is merely allowing them the oppurtunity to make as much money as possible on the thought that the salary cap will be higher at that time thus allowing them to sign for more $$$ per year than if they sign long term now.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chutney:</div><div class="quote_post">So how come Carmelo signed for all 5 years?</div> I think he just wants to play it safe and be secure. Plus, while he is very popular, I think he realizes he isn't worth 150 million.
Bosh also donates 1 mill of his money to charity. Class move, i dont really think he did this for the money just wants to make sure the Raptors can be a winner in 3 years time.
