    According to Houston Chronicles:

The Rockets moved to fill their void in the backcourt on Friday with a deal to acquire shooting guard Kirk Snyder from the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets.

The Rockets did not have to give up a player to add Snyder, sending cash and future draft considerations — likely no more than switching second-round draft positions — to the Hornets.

Snyder had a very poor Summer League performance and a have an attitude problem. Remember against the Rockets 2 years ago when he was with the Jazz. After he made a basket he was making jestures towards the Rockets bench prompting Jerry Sloan to take him out of the ball game eventhough he played very well. I don't know if this is a good choice probably he came cheap so the Rockets can afford him and still have big portion of the MLE to spend. If Novak and Snyder signed we will have 12 players under contract with a big chance of signing Lucas III due to his stong Summer League performance. So it will be 2 more players to go.

Snyder doesnt affect our MLE at all.

I don't hate this deal. It gives us depth.

    Good enough deal for now.
Defensive guy that can play and defend the 2 spot.

He had a bad second half last year, but so did NO as a team.
He also has had some summer league problems, but he definitly helps comming off the bench at SG.

I like this pickup. It feels like we got him for nothing. We finally have a 6'6" guard who's athletic. He can actually dunk! I hope the Rockets aren't done.

    depth cahrt is as follows

    C: Yao/ deke
    PF: Howard/ Chuck hayes
    SF: Battier/ Novak/ rybo
    SG: tmac/ Snyder
    PG: Alston/ head/ sura

I actually think the Rockets are gonna put him as back up SF and put Luther at back up SG. This would put John Lucas III in line up.

I guess Deshawn Stevenson is out of the question now.

I see us using our MLE on a PF now and trading Juwan for a back up C and PG

Don't hate this trade, but it seems like we're settling for mediocore.......Snyder is athletic, but why aren't we chasing better players. Butler? Stevenson? anybody that can hit a jumpshot. Van Gundy seems to be satisfied with a whole team full of defensive specialist.

I love this trade. He is a great defender. We get another lockdown defender that could shoot and giving up virturally nothing. This guy is the real deal when it comes to defence he can be our second lock down guy. He also can shoot from three judging that from his 35% shooting. Defensively houston gets better and offensively we get another guy that can hit open shots. He is also highly athletic with great potential prompting him to be drafted ahead of other freaks like JR Smith and Josh Smith. This guy will be great for us. He is only 23 years older so we did get young like many of you hoped. This is the first robbery i have ever seen CD pull other than the Mcgrady trade. JVG will further develop his defensive abilities and he may become a defender with the likes of ron artest. He is more athletic then Artest but right now is still not that refined. Didn't him and JVG almost get into a fight before?

    Scorer BigPF/C <u>Athletic SG</u>
To give up basically nothing for now, for a guy that fills a need is big.
This, in my mind does put Deshawn out, which means something to me...

I wouldn't say we are settling for mediocre guys, I think we found a need that frees up the little assets the Rockets have to make more of an impact.

Some damage can still be done with the MLE and the trade exception.
I just hope more holes are filled with good players.

Skip Sura JL3(I think he'll get a chance)
    TMac Snyder Head
    Battier
Howard Hayes Novak(don't think his min. will come at SF)
    Yao Deke

I would say getting a big that can't take some min. at C. is a waste.
A shooter at SF, Rasual fits nice.

If he was such a great defender, I'm sure he would have stuck around in Utah. I like his athleticism, his shooting numbers look decent but this guy must be somewhat of a cancer. Two teams in two years for a player with such size and athletic ability at the swingman position? Not only that, but his coaches expressed a lot of disappointment with how he did not improve one iota of his game during the summer league.

Our biggest needs are now adding another nba proven Sg/sf
and a starting PF(drew gooden) would sky rocket self esteem for rockets fans.

I do not know a lot about Snyder's game, but considering that the Rockets basically got him for nothing, there is not much to lose. He does seem to have attitude problems though. In addition to the taunting incident, he supposedly used a racial slur at one of the Rocket players.

At least we finally got a backcourt player that might dunk the ball. Last season, I only saw two dunks from the backcourt, and both were from Richie Frahm and were during the same game.

We get an athletic defender who has a good three pointer. Thats great. We get him for cash and some picks. Great trade. All we have to do now is get a good backup pg and a starting pf and maybe another back up sg.

HE was trade twice because he couldn't get along with sloan at all and couldn't get along with Scott and he has already had run in with van gundy so that worries me

This is a great pickup... To all the people who love Rudy Gay so much, look at the pre-draft scouting reports on Kirk Snyder and you'll see someone who is very similar to Gay. Long, athletic, versatile wing who can score and defend. Also got some attitude/work ethic issues. Snyder is 23 - he's been traded twice already in 2 years. This could be kind of a wake-up call? If you read the Chronicle article, he personally apologized to JVG after the taunting incident. Maybe he'll blossom in the right system, who knows?

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Van Gundy was irate, drawing a technical foul. But after the game, Snyder found Van Gundy in a Delta Center hallway, apologized and told Van Gundy that he knew he had gone too far, a display of contrition he thought on Friday just might prove to be one of the best moves of his career.

"That was a very, very emotional game," Snyder said. "It was one of the few times I got the opportunity to play. I was all bottled up and in an emotional state. I had the opportunity to see coach Van Gundy and let him know I knew it wasn't appropriate. I'm so glad I did.

"I'm lucky I did the right thing then, because I'm a Houston Rocket now."</div>
