<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ORLANDO, Fla. -- He has been the top attraction through four days at the Orlando Summer League.

His floppy hair and trademark mustache would be enough to draw attention. But it has been his ability to make high-arcing jumpers that has people talking. So does his effort to get open. And his knack for finding a way to the basket is why people have talked about Charlotte Bobcats rookie Adam Morrison this week.

"He's a hell of a player," said Pacers president Larry Bird, to whom Morrison has been compared.

If this week has been any indication, Morrison should make the transition from top college player last season to contributor for a Bobcats team that won 26 games last season.

"You know what's crazy? That theory of him not working hard is far from the case," Bobcats assistant coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. "That he's a bad defender? That's far from the case, too. Those are things people say about him because they don't have nothing else to say. He works hard and that's why he has a chance to be special, because he's going to work. No matter if his shot is going (in), no matter what's happening, he's going to compete."
Morrison is one of the leading scorers in the summer league, averaging 24 points and shooting 92.5 percent (37-of-40) from the foul line. The Pacers face Morrison and the Bobcats today, the last day of summer league.
"He's no joke," said Pacers forward Danny Granger, who worked out with Morrison in Los Angeles last month. "You can easily see why he was a high pick. He does it all."

It was inevitable that comparisons between Morrison, the No. 3 pick in the draft two weeks ago, and Bird would come up during the week, especially with Bird sitting in the stands.

"We shoot similar-type shots," Bird said. "He's creative around the basket. He goes inside and out. He's always on the move and bouncing around. When he gets the ball, he's in a different speed."

Morrison, scored 25 of his 29 points in the first half against Chicago earlier this week. He scored 15 of Charlotte's first 21 points, with an array of moves. He had 31 points against New Jersey on Thursday.

"The game isn't faster. I'd say it's just quicker," Morrison said earlier this week. "I think I've proven I'm more athletic than people thought and I can get my shot whenever I want."</div>

Yeah good on him. I'm one of the few people who had/has confidence in him becoming a premier player in this league. I think he is going to be somthing special. He's definatley going to be one of my favourite players for years to come.

He just still seems like a stiff player to me, but I hope he proves me wrong.
