Just putting it out there, but could Luol Deng be put forth to the power forward position? I have read somewhere that he has grown a little more and may still grow some more before he is done making him around Ben Wallace height or just a little taller. If he gains some serious muscle would it be possible? He can shoot and rebound and could possibly be a real assest down low as a scorer which is what we seem to be lacking at the moment.
He could if he added muscle like you said. He averaged 6.6 rebounds at SF. He would have to add muscle to guard bigger power forwards. He isn't like a banger in the post though. Plus he would have an advantage against the other power forwards on the offensive end because of his quickness and all-around game.
We did have him at power forward at a certain point during his rookie season he didn’t last long there though. I think he could play the position if we chose to go with a smaller lineup, but I don’t see it happening anytime soon. We already have Nocioni at power forward at times when we decide to go small, PJ Brown, and Tyrus Thomas.

Wouldn't be most likely be behind Sefolosha? What is Thabo's position anyway? He seems to be able to play anywhere.

Since we already have Nocioni, Deng, and maybe even Tyrus for some at the small forward slot. And then J.R. probably plays just guard and Griffin can play SG and SF.
I thought griffin could run the point too? didnt we have him doing that when he was with us the first time?
I don't remember Griffin running the point for us. I think that if Deng bulks up and grows a little more then he will be able to play the 4 regularly. But I do not see that as something we neccesarily have to do because of the depth we have at the 4. I can see him playing the 4 when we go small and Noc isn't in the game. I hope he does bulk up so he can dominate the 3's in the league. Post them down low and score on them and also score from midrange and downtown. I can't wait to see what this kid does in the future. Also you know how Luol has grown in the past couple offseasons? I hope that is the case for Ty Thomas as well considering they were about the same age when we drafted each of them. I would love to see him jump to about 6'11" and also bulk up.
Andres plays PF for us. Especially a lot last year. He's more aggressive and better defensively than Loul. If you watched Bulls games you'd know this...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BBall Guru:</div><div class="quote_post">Andres plays PF for us. Especially a lot last year. He's more aggressive and better defensively than Loul. If you watched Bulls games you'd know this...</div> well i can't and it's still a valid topic.
With some muscle then for sure Deng could play the Power Forward. However I don't know if he will do that. From what I've seen over the years I think that a good starting five right now would be.. C Ben Wallace PF Andr?s Nocioni SF Luol Deng SG Ben Gordon PG Kirk Hinrich Then there are alternatives based on how well other players perform or the possibility of occuring injuries (God forbid). But the Bulls are quite deep right now and any of these players listed below could start a game. For Tyrus Thomas, I wouldn't expect him to start many games unless he shows his worth right off the bat. Ben Wallace, PJ Brown, Andr?s Nocioni, Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich, Chris Duhon, and Thabo Sefolosha. Why Thabo? Don't put him down for the first game of the season naturally. Well I'm personally throwing him into the frey because I watched this guy play against teams while I was in Europe. This dude can play pretty damn well and he works like a madman when he gets excited. He's a very entertaining player. I'm patiently waiting to see him show up for the first game of the next season off the bench. I want to see if he can live up to what he's known for over in Europe.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting michiganave17:</div><div class="quote_post">he played pf in college</div> he played everything in college, but yeah he did play plenty of pf
I don't think he would be as good at PF. Even if he put on some muscle I would still feel comfortable w/ him at SF.
I don't see Deng playing pf spot. Noc will be getting minutes there before him. Plus we have PJ Brown and Tyrus off the bench. And also Mike Sweetney can play there when he's not backing up Big Ben. So, I really don't see him playing there. I'm not sure if he's physically strong enough to guard people in the post, so, to prevent injury, I'd rather him not.
I really dont think you need him there anymore with PJ here. We could use him breifly to go small with a three guard lineup of gordon, hinrich, and duhon, but that is all i would want to see him at pf
Deng's got a great game no doubt; wherever he plays, good things will happen. Wallace & JR Smith are great additions! Hopfully Smith has grown up. If not, Skiles will kick his ass.
C: Ben Wallace/ pJ brown Pf: Tyrus Thomas/ Mike Sweetney SF: Andres Nocioni/ Luol Deng SG: Ben Gordon PG: kirk hinrich/ chris duhon no one else really matters.
