Top 5 current QBs for each conference:

AFC
P Manning
Brady
Plummer
Brees
Palmer

NFC
Bledsoe
E Manning
Delhomme
Hasselbeck
B Johnson

Seems pretty lopsided in favor of the AFC IMO.

Agreed. I think I would take 4 of the 5 AFC QBs before any 1 of the NFC QBs. Of course, I assume these are the Pro Bowl leaders, not the best QBs. Injuries have taken out 3 that would normally be on this NFC list, thus closing the gap a little.

Those were the two gimmies. Bulger would be the other potential.

Bulger, McNabb, Vick are better than Delhomme and Brad Johnson. No offence to my QB but i would rather have Vick than him, Jake just makes to many dumb plays

Throwing a TD pass to Steve Smith is not a dumb play. A dumb play is probably fumbling a snap or throw an interception.

If you count fanstasy value, which includes Vicks running, Vick is 20 points more important than Delhomme. Those points translate into wins in the long run. I hope the panthers take a chance on Marcus Vick in this years or next draft

yards are yards in game. In FF passing yards are less valuable. Delhomme is WAY better

Delholme is in the top 3rd of the league....Vick is in the bottom 3rd of the league....if the top 3rd is better than the bottomw third, than i guess Delholme is better....Vick is the ideal QB for a bad offense....if you have no talent, he can make things happen with his legs....if you want to be a good offense, you will need a passer to make to make it work....unless vick learns to throw it as good as an avg NFL quarterback, his teams will never advance to the Super Bowl....

I'm surprised that BF1 hasn't said Kyle Orton is a better QB than Vick [IMG]

Not yet proven. Give him about 5 more years of consistently putting up these numbers and he'll be one of the best.

Ummm, Brad Johnson is the third best QB of all time. What does Vick lay claim to, other than one of the worst passers in the league with some stiff competition coming from Kyle Boller?

The reason brad johnson had a great winning percentage is because when he was in tampa his defense won the games for him, just like Trent Dilfer in Baltimore, but no one thinks trent Dilfer is great. Vick is the #1 reason of the falcons sucess. Vick is explosive and amazing, Brad Johnson is just managing the game kinda like Kyle Orton

Vick is reason 22 for thier success on field, but #1 for bringing in fans.

I should have added a few smiley faces to that post as it came with a hint of sarcasm.

HOWEVER, Johnson has a good winning % because he does not lose games. Here's a bit of obvious trivia? The Redskins have not been a playoff team in the past number of years, with the exception of one season. That one season had Johnson as the QB. Remember, to post a high career winning % he has to win with all the teams he played for (3 different teams).

BTW, when it comes to managing games, comparing Johnson to Orton is downright insulting to Johnson.

Vick is definitely explosive and amazing. However, I personally would hate to have a QB who on any given play can result in a huge negative play because he is running backwards to avoid a sack, relying on his speed to get him out of trouble, rather than being a smart QB and throwing the ball out of bounds.

Vick is not an elite QB for more reasons than his low passer rating - he makes bad decisions. He is improving, but at this point the ONLY good thing you can say about him is that he is explosive and fun to watch.

That is the most sense a Viking Fan has ever made!

First, you can't compare Johnson to Orton because his numbers are actually quite respectable, while Orton's are pretty much farcical, reason number one being he isnt being allowed to throw more than 17-20 passes a game, and probably rightly so,

Secondly, Vick is explosive and he is fun to watch but as Viking Fan said he can throw picks one game/play and then throw a laser the next play. He can also scramble for 30 yards then get sacked for a loss of 11.

Man, its hard to debate a point when the point keeps changing. I thought winning was the only thing that mattered anyway? [IMG] [IMG]

A lot of people say winning is all that matters when they are defending Vick, then they say winning isnt enough when ripping on Orton....so which is it? Do the Bears win in spite of Orton? I believe so, and I believe the Falcons win in spite of Vick(not as much this year)....Vick has all the tools to be an amazing QB, that doesnt mean he is one....I have all the tools to be an amazing mechanic, doesnt mean I can fix anything....
