<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Rocky Mountain News - A source said Sunday the Denver Nuggets are close to acquiring J.R. Smith, an up-and-coming guard who played last season for the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, the Rocky Mountain News is reporting.

In a deal that was announced Friday, Smith was traded with forward P.J. Brown from the Hornets to the Chicago Bulls for forward Tyson Chandler. The trade is expected to become official after Brown and Smith take physicals Wednesday.

The source said the Bulls then plan to trade Smith to the Nuggets for guard Howard Eisley, who has a nonguaranteed contract, and two future second-round picks. The Bulls, who need to clear salary cap room to sign free-agent forward Adrian Griffin, then would waive Eisley.

The 6-foot-6 Smith, 20, averaged 7.7 points last season after averaging 10.3 as a rookie in 2004-05. He entered the NBA directly from St. Benedict's Prep, a high school in Newark, N.J.</div>

JR will should get a lot of minutes in Denver. I think he can turn out to be a great player, if he can get his head straightened out. This past season has been a waste for him because of his attitude.

I think J.R. and Carmelo could be an offensive nightmare for the opposition, in the future. If Carmelo can continue to develop his low post game, and J.R. can get his head straight, that could be a deadly inside-out wing combo.

He wasn't going to get time from the Bulls, but if he does do something wrong here, Karl will probably do something because look what he did with K-Mart.

Crap, now Denver has a legit SG, now they're set with a full new starting lineup. Crap, this is bad for Houston, we have yet to find a quality SG.

Yeah good pick up for you guys, shooting guard was your only real weakness, more due to lack of depth than anything, now you have a talented young guard backing up a talented veteran. He'll see alot more minutes on your team than he would in Chicago and New Orleans.

That's a steal for the Nuggets IMO. Smith and Carmelo could be a DEADLY combo in the future.
