<div class="quote_poster">Quoting P.A.P.:</div><div class="quote_post">Basically everything you just said is untrue. Yes, VC has had injury problems recently, but which ones have been major? He hasn't had one since '02, excluding the freak acciden with Bowen. His main concerns have been his knees and and he has no injury to them in a while. His injuries are really not comparable to Grants in terms of how serious they were.

Since when is VC a ball hog? He's very unselfish, and a very good passer and likes creating for his teammates. The reason he took 19* shots a year last year is because he's one of the best scorers and shooters in the league. Plus you're basing your opinion on stats which is unfair because you'd have a totally different opinion if you watced him.

I don't know where you're getting that. If anything that's ideally what Vince would like. He's even accepted a role in NJ where he's not the franchise player, and look at what he's done.

Vince wants to win, so he'll look for the best scenerio for him to win and play a big role in as well. With the contract Pierce got recently, it's possible that he may be wanting the same thing.

Yes but are you forgetting the Nets and their sucess of the past 2 season with Carter? Without any legit scorer. They have Jason Kidd and RJ which is a big factor. But there's no reason to suggest why the Magic wouldn't be succesful with a balance of a dominating post player, a rising distrubuting PG, and an unseflish very good scorer.</div>

I will admit that I dont' get to watch the Nets that often, but when I did, that's what I saw. Although he always lit it up when I watched. By lighting it up, I mean that he took 20+ shots and scored 30+ points. It seemed like the Nets were just standing around watching him and it took them out of their rhythm. I hope you understand why I'm hesitant to add another 25-30 point scorer with the bloodline of Tmac. We looked much better at the end of last year with balance and chemistry then what we did in Tmac's 4 years where he would score the majority of the points. We had 3 years getting knocked out in the 1st round and the worst record in the NBA. I know he's a scorer, but like Swish said, we would have Jameer, VC, and Hedo starting, that would be an awful defensive lineup. I know VC isn't as bad at defense as I am saying, I'm overexaggerating, but he's not that great at all.

I was just saying that stuff to try to give my reasons on why I don't want him for the max for a long amount of time. I wouldn't be too disappointed if we gave it to him for 2 maybe 3 years. He has never been less than the man on any team. He would NOT be the man in Orlando. Dwight is the man and Dwight will still be the man even with VC. The #1 goal of the Magic will be to improve and speed up Dwight's growth as a player. Truthfully I don't see VC being able to be a secondary player who will give up the ball to Dwight.

I hope you also know why a Magic fan is hesitant to give a max contract to a player that is known to be injury prone. Fool us once shame on you, Fool us twice, shame on us.

The thing with getting a guy like Haward is...you already have guys like that. What you don't have is a true scorer who can pick up the scoring load at any time. Howard won't make the impact that VC will.

That's where I disagree. The Mavs went something like 24-0 last year when Howard put up 20 points. He does all of the little things. We don't need 1 scoring option, that is what will make us dangerous. We need quality ball movement and getting our players to play their roles. Hedo, Dwight, Jameer will do the scoring for us this year. Everyone will get close to the same amount of shots. If you need someone to shut someone down defensively, Josh Howard will do that. If you need someone to get a big rebound, Josh Howard will do that. If you need someone to penetrate and dish, Josh Howard will do that. If you need a big play to create a spark, Josh Howard will do that. He goes 110% all of the time, something you can't say for VC after he quit on the Raptors.

If we got J-Ho that would be great, he is a great player and I think he would fit in Orlando great. Like Gators said he does the little things that make a good team even better.
