Lately I have been getting a lot of acne. You know, the kind with red bumps. It make me so angry, and that fact is, some acne I lose a lot of confidence, especially when I'm around girls. So I decided to bring this thread back and see if any of you have any new ideas.
My skin's much clearer now then it was in grade 11. Excersice (working out, running) definetly helps, probably because it relieves tensions or whatever. Also, you should try flax seed oil (the oil, not the capsules)..those definetly help. Plus your body needs omega-3 anyway and it provides just that. Some site (I think wholehealthmd.com) suggested that flax seed helps with acne in one way or another so I decided to give it a try and it's definetly helped I think. Reduces inflamation as well.

<div class="quote_poster">Carter Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Try this: Clearasil Ultra really worked for me.</div> I used the same crap a while back too, works pretty good. Also if you ask your doctor about it he can give you these pills to take that work really good as long as you keep your face clean.
Antiseptic cream? I don't know if you're serious about it working or not (can't detect the sarcasm) - cause people try some crazy **** to get rid of pimples- but I'm never gonna try that on my face. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Also if you ask your doctor about it he can give you these pills to take that work really good as long as you keep your face clean. </div> If you're talking about antibiotic pills, I actually had to take them at one point (I didn't really need them actually, my physian just doesn't know **** about acne), even though just atopical would have been enough. Anyway, it took like 3 months to actually see effects on my face and by the time it did, I was so paranoid about it's long-term side effects (there's quite a few) that I stopped taking it and switched to a more natural approach. Natrual is the way to go.
The cream works well, as it's an anti imflammatry aswell, so while it fights the bacteria and germs of the pimple, its will help reduce the redness aswell. It kills 2 birds with one stone, it may seem wierd, but its effective, and I've never experience any side effects using it, it usually gets rid of pimples within a couple of days. I also was on those anti biotics at one stage too, they worked, but they had some effect that I couldnt be exposed to too much sun light, as I would burn easily, I too stopped taking them and took a more natural approach. Regardless of what people say, diet does factor into getting acne.
<div class="quote_poster">Chutney Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Does anybody remember that commercial with the hispanic kid and he had horrible acne? I just remembered it, while reading this thread. It must have come on a long time ago, but it was so funny. "People think that I eat too much chocolate or don't wash my face..."</div> I think I remember him saying "chocolate bars", but yea lol. I'm sure his is a good guy and all. Anyways, I get zits and pimples, I find that diet has a pretty big impact on it, and exercise also has an impact but probably 50% as much for me.
Exceriscing has actually helped for me, as long as I wipe off the sweat afterwards. As for diet, diet plays a huge role, despite what doctors say. Some foods tend to really aggravate skin and in my case, I found avoiding really oily food and basically almost all kinds of junk food quite beneficial not only to my skin but my overall health. When I was like 12ish I used to just eat junk food all day, everyday, all the time. Now, I rarely eat it and I feel better that way. So, I'm glad in the sense that I've had to alter my diet for the better.
Always wash your face with soap, that prevents acne in the first place, which is a reason I dont have acne.
Yeah soap is bad for your face, as Junoon said, it dries your skin, so you wont have acne, but you'll have dry, flaky skin, which is just as bad as acne.
A friend of mine had really bad acne and Proactiv cleared her face in less than a week! I find that a natural remedy is drinking lots of water, it helps i swear
I heard sleeping really late causes acne too. Anyways, my cousin had acne and he ordered Proactive and it actually worked.
