The tryouts in Vegas are starting very soon and we have a huge field of players to choose from... who would you guys pick for your 12 players to represent the USA?

Carmelo Anthony; Gilbert Arenas; Shane Battier; Chauncey Billups; Chris Bosh; Bruce Bowen; Elton Brand; Kobe Bryant; Kirk Hinrich; Dwight Howard; LeBron James ; Antawn Jamison; Joe Johnson; Shawn Marion; Brad Miller; Adam Morrison; Lamar Odom; Chris Paul ; Paul Pierce; Michael Redd; J.J. Redick ; Luke Ridnour ; Amar? Stoudemire ; and Dwyane Wade.

A few of these people aren't playing this summer, I know Kobe, Odom, JJ, Chauncey, and probably some others...

PG: Hinrich and Paul (the two best young gun PGs in the league)
    SG: Wade and Arenas
    SG-SF: Pierce and Battier
    SF: Lebron and Marion
    PF: Bosh and Brand
    C: Howard and Amare

PG: Kirk Hinrich- perfect for getting the other players the ball while still having the ability to score himself, just like a lot of international point guards
Chris Paul- good for providing a spark off the bench

    SG: Dwayne Wade- unstoppable
Paul Pierce- can get everything done for the team
Gilbert Arenas- provides instant offense off the

    SF: LeBron- no explanation needed
Bruce Bowen- can be brought in to shut down a hot shooter

PF: Shawn Marion- he isn't undersized for the international game, and can score, shut down another player and rebound
Chris Bosh- can shoot from the perimeter, like most european big men

C: Dwight Howard- much stronger and more athletic than any big man the other teams can throw at him
Amare Stoudamire- a little out of shape, but the same as dwight other than that
Brad Miller- brings a great passing game from the paint to the perimeter or to the drive, basically a 3rd option if amare and dwight are out of sync

QUESTION: What's up with Kobe? Is he still on the team and playing? Headlines make it sound like he's not on anymore.

PG: Chris Paul & Gilbert Arenas & Chauncey Billups

    SG: KOBE & D-Wade & Michael Redd

    SF: LeBron & Shawn Marion

PF: Elton Brand & Chris Bosh

C: Dwight Howard & Amar? Stoudemire

I'd really like to put in Brad Miller, Shane Battier, and Paul Pierce in tho

Kobe is still on the 25 man roster, but from what I have read he will not be participating in the World Championships.

Here's a list of the guys that aren't participating, I just found this:

    Chauncey Billups (personal reasons)
    Kobe Bryant (knee)
    Paul Pierce (elbow)
    Greg Oden (wrist)
Lamar Odom (death of his son)
    Michael Redd (wedding)
    J.J. Redick (back)

Greg Oden got invited after Lamar and Pierce withdrew. I read that he was also considered for the initial roster.

The real question is: who will take the last shot if it came down to it. My money's on Wade.

I still think it will be Kobe, doesnt coach K and him have some love thing going on? Coz i think Kobe said he would of loved for coack K coach the lakers and he would of gone to Duke if he went to college.
But also coz Kobe has a huge reputation for being clutch, even though he has missed a lot...
But since Kobe isnt on this current roster due to injury, yer would be Wade I think, i agree with ya.
