NO not at all. I'm just saying that Boris Diaw can develop into a Offensive KG without the rebounding.

Honnestly KG's stock is falling fast. If you asked this question 3 years ago people would likely say top 15 maybe all time. Now he's not even considered a top 3 player in the game currently. With only one post first-round trip to his name and no ring he's a strecth for top 30.

^^Hell no! Three years ago counts in his overall ranking, so how does getting old make him worse for his entire career. And btw, his stats are pretty much the same from 3 years ago. Its not his fault McHale is mentally retarded

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I read what you had to say, and basically you are discounting winning a title is a big part in how great a player is.</div>

I still don't understand how not having a ring makes you less valuable. Look at Stockton and Malone. If they had won titles would you think they were even better players? I would still rank them the same. If Jordan hadn't won any titles but still put up the same numbers including the 72-10 season would he be any less valuable? I don't think so. Even with Deke, would you rate him as a better player with a title? They still would be the same imo.

Better players? No. Better legacy? Yes.

Would he be considered by some the best All-Time bar none by some. Absoutly. The biggest star on his resume is his 6 championships. That is where is dominance came in, period. If he didn't win a championship, it would be even more reason to claim that Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlian, Dr J, players that people consider right underneath him, to be just as great if not greater players.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Franchise4Ever:</div><div class="quote_post">They still would be the same imo.</div>

Your opinion is your opinion, niether right or wrong. Championships are big part of the game, and saying that they don't matter is a big deal.

^^I totally agree. But i think KG has done enough with soooooo little that his case will be different. If mj never won a title with some of those teams, he would not be considered the best ever, i am sure of that. KG has never been expected to win a title, he has never had a good enough team to. 2003 was his only chance, but our team was plagued with injuries so much that he played pg.

I am not saying that Garnett not winning a championship doesn't make him one of the greats. However, it keeps him out of that very elite circle of players (top 10-15 players) that have. The players that dominated the stat sheet, won championships, had playoff dominance, regular season dominance, unforgetable moments ect ect get the nod over a player like Kevin. He still ranks high on the fact he has always carried a sub par team to the playoffs all but a few times in his career, had a stat line that only a few of the NBA greats have carried their career.

The seperating fact isn't talent or stats, its the championships. Regardless of Garnett being in his 30s, he still has time, to increase his legacy if a couple things go right. I truley believe that.

Its not even the fact he hasn't <u>won</u> its the fact that's he's never even competed for one. At least with guys like barkley and malone they actually made it to the finals and lost to the best. KG for someone who get's pretty good assist numbers has yet to really make teamates better and that will hurt his legacy.

^^Who hasa he not made better. Just about everyone that went to minny had great years, and some revitalized their careers. Cassell got his respect from minny, t hud broke out here, olowakandi did his best here, eddie griffin, marbury had his best years here, spree had a mini comeback here, trenton hassell. I could go on and on, but i dont think i really have to.

Cassell won NBA Championships with the Rockets, and was respected and known as a great point guard years ago. Eddie Griffin never really had a chance with the Rockets, and Spree has always put up great numbers. Troy Hudson played well with the Magic in his last season, and was poised for a breakout, which happened to occur in Minny. As for Marbury and Kandiman? They played well because of the presence of KG.

Top 20? I honestly don't know if he has a place in the top 40 or 50. There are just too many good players to put on an NBA uniform in the past, what, 70 years? It isn't meant to be disrespectful, I just don't see KG as good a player as some of the legends.

Well, considering I haven't really been following the NBA closely until the 1999-2000 season, I haven't seen a lot of the "greats" play. But considering the talent and the numbers KG puts up, I say that he has to at least be in the top 50. IMO, he should be somewhere in the top 30.
