Emeka can't shoot like Duncan, doesn't and will never have the offensive game Duncan has. Gordon is about 3-4 maybe even 5 inches shorter than Miller. I think Gordon can become as clutch and as sick as Miller. Also please don't bring height in this... ZOMG DWIGHT IS POINT 2 INCHES SHORTER THAN SO AND SO.... How can you say Paul doesn't atleast resemble Kidd? Also you guys quit the LeBron vs. Jordan fanboy fight out. Jordan is nothing like Lebron and vice versa.
i think the paul and kidd coomparison is there. Paul is becoming a triple double threat similar to kidd. He is a better scorer, and kidd everything else, but maybe

How can you compare Lebron to Jordan when he doesn't even compare to Kobe? Kobe is the best player in the league, and the closest thing to Jordan.
The original poster wanted to compare "young and up and coming players" to well known players. So it would make more sense to compare LeBron (or Wade, for that matter) to Jordan than Kobe. Kobe doesn't qualify as "young and up and coming" any more. He's firmly established.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting H.ayes:</div><div class="quote_post">Michael Jordan's 3rd Season: 37.1 PPG 5.20 RPG 4.6 APG .482% FG 40.0 MPG LeBron James' 3rd Season: 31.4 PPG 7.0 RPG 6.6 APG .480% FG 42.5 MPG Yeah, not on his level at all. Maybe above it?</div> You totally just contradicted your stats. From what I can see Jordan put up better numbers in fewer minutes, and has a higher efficiency. Lebron has the adv. in rbs. and assts. but Jordan killed him in points in slightly less minutes. And all this while actually playing defense .

Guys stop bringing petty arguements of Lebron > Jordan in here. Also if you think this isn't interesting then don't post it. Dwight isn't like TD. Dwight doesn't have a jumpshot like him nor the post moves. Dwight is a power guy, thats why I put him as becoming like Shaq. Fair enough.</div> i meant when LeBron is older he will be like jordan. Im a fan of both so don't think im hatin on jordan.
Adam Morrisson is nothing like Larry Bird and will never compare to Larry no matter what he accomplishes in his career. He is white; that is all they have in common.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Franchise4Ever:</div><div class="quote_post">Compare the young and upcoming to the already known players. This is what I think those young players will develop roughly into. Iguodala = VC, or J-Richardson Bosh = KG Dwight Howard = Shaq Chris Paul = Jason Kidd Emeka Okafor = Tim Duncan Ben Gordon = Reggie Miller This is all I can think of for now. Too tired. EDIT: I thought up more but can't think of good NBA Comparisons: Josh Smith, LeBron, Carmelo, JR Smith, etc.</div> All but the Bosh to KG one are actually quite bad comparisons. Not to be mean but Iguodala has not shown to be a scorer yet, right now he's an athletic finisher and defender who can catch and shoot a little, and has ball handling and playmaking ability. Dwight Howard really doesn't have a similar game to Shaq at all right now. Paul is nothing like Kidd, he's versatile, but in terms of how he plays, not at all, even comparing to young Kdd, they aren't similar in any way except for being pure PG's. Emeka first of all plays nothing like Duncan, and does not have close to the skill level of Duncan, doesn't have the scoring ability, doesn't have a similar post game, stylem whatever, there aren't any similarites outside of them being able to rebound. Ben Gordon is NOTHING like Reggie. I think this is actually the one that's furthest off. Reggie is a master of using screens, and was not a very versatile guy or big ball handler. Gordon is about getting the ball in his hands to score, he's not a screens guy, he's assisted on 48% of his makes, in comparison to Reggie who was on about 75%+, but he could create too, that just wasn't his main game though. Gordon has sick handles as a scorer, and a nice crossover. Gordon is also quick, fast, has a 40 inch vertical, and is an undersized SG, while Reggie was not big in the athletic department, and was a legit 6'7 guy. <u>My comparisons:</u> Iguodala = Richard Jefferson with better playmaking ability. Bosh = A mixture of KG and Duncan, not as good as either defensively and on the glass, and not the playmaker KG is. Dwight Howard = Have no clue, sort of similar to Amare, but more of a post guy, a better defender and rebounder. Could draw some similarities to David Robinson because of his strength, but not really very similar in his game. It's still up in the air, Amare is probably the closest thing with him being better in some areas and worse in others. Chris Paul = Isiah Thomas kinda of player, I don't know if he will be the scorer Isiah was though, but he has the same height, and a similar game. You could also make a KJ comparison. Emeka Okafor = Poor Man's Alonzo Mourning, definately not the same scoring or shot blocking threat. Ben Gordon = Sort of similar to Mike James this season as a Raptor. He has that ability to hit shots calmly with people in his face, the quickness and handles to get to the basket, and a smooth stroke. MJ is a better playmaker, and more capable at the PG spot though, but he's still young. You could also compare him to 03-04 Arenas. Josh Smith = Easily Andrei Kirilenko, though slightly different, he will have a very similar game, more athletic version. He's shown he has the playmaking ability, he has the shot blocking, and of course the length, he's improved his shot and scoring (though Andrei isn't a big scorer or shooter anyways), and his man to man defense is moving up. LeBron = Lebron, can't think of anyone he's actually similar to. Carmelo = Carmelo, maybe a better scoring less versatile prime Jamal Mashburn, I don't know, or just Carmelo? JR Smith = Q-Rich without the post game Raymond Felton = Baron Davis, but not yet as crafy a ball handler and passer. Deron Williams = Possibly Andre Miller with a jumpshot. I don't know, but I just see similarities in their game. Sean May = Clarence Weatherspoon, I don't know but he just reminds me of him lol. Shaun Livingston = Penny Hardawy, less scoring, more passing, not as athletic. Adam Morrison = Not Larry Bird. Let me see, Glenn Robinson with Wally Szcerbiak's shooting ability, and possibly a better scorer than both if he maxes as a player. Brandon Roy = Manu Ginobili, this is what I see when I see this guy play, people might not agree, but I see Ginobili. Martell Webster = Michael Redd who can't put the ball on the floor as well.
og15 your comparisons are great but I am saying what kind of player you think they can, or will develop into. Not comparisons as of right now.
