<div class="quote_poster">Quoting P.A.P.:</div><div class="quote_post">Please tell me how Dwight is like Duncan.</div> Word, they're different in so many ways.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting H.ayes:</div><div class="quote_post">Adam Morrisson is nothing like Larry Bird and will never compare to Larry no matter what he accomplishes in his career. He is white; that is all they have in common.</div> Larry isnt white, Larry's clear. And there is a comparision. Both are prolific, not very athletic scorers, with a huge desire to win.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting P.A.P.:</div><div class="quote_post">Please tell me how Dwight is like Duncan.</div> I was saying that Dwight is more like Duncan than he is Garnett. Dwight can't play every position like Garnett can and his build is more like Duncan's. Also, Dwight's work ethic reminds me of Tim's because he wants to improve all the time. I'm not the only one who thinks this. Jameer Nelson- "Dwight is almost like a more powerful Tim Duncan. He?s gonna go out there and get rebounds, he?s not going to shoot as many jumpshots as Tim Duncan but he?s gonna bang and play good defense."
Amare Stoudemire: Shawn Kemp Shaquille O'Neal: Wilt Chamberlain Tracy McGrady: Dominique Wilkins Tim Duncan: Bill Walton Allen Iverson: Nate Archibald LeBron James: Elgin Baylor They're not all entirely accurate but I think they have some similarities.
I also dont see the dwight/duncan comparison. To me, there is no one that compares to dwight. Maybe Big Ben or Rodman, with slightly better scoring now hopefully a lot better later. Definately not duncan. Dwight is a power guy, while TD is a skill/savy guy.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">Maybe Big Ben or Rodman, with slightly better scoring now hopefully a lot better later.</div> With slightly better scoring? Wow. Dwight Howard is going to beast in a couple of seasons. Throughout Ben Wallace's entire career he has never averaged more than 10 points per game. Since entering the league, Dwight has averaged at least 12 points per game each season, a trend that will most likely continue barring a huge injury. To say Dwight will be a Big Ben or a Rodman is crazy. He is going to be a franchise players and a superstar, not a role player.
^^ i said slightly better NOW, and hopefully he will develope it later. He isnt a great scorer yet, magic fans need to chill out on him. He is an amazing rebounder and has all the tools to be a HOFer. But right now he isnt a great scorer or defender. I dont see him developing into a TD type player at all. TD isnt even that great of a rebounder. Dwight is already better, until he proves to be a 15-20 ppg scorer consistantly i see him as a rodman/ben wallace type, because that is what he is right now.
Rodman could score with the Pistons. Plus Rodman is better than Dwight Howard. If he wanted to score with the Bulls he could. Rodman was a beast. Don't even compare Dwight with him.
^^that is also where i was goin at. Rodman was an accomplished scorer in college, and was good for the pistons, but never had to score playin alongside isiah, dumars, jordan, and pippen
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">TD isnt even that great of a rebounder</div> Are you serious? Yeah, a guy that has never averaged less than 11 rebounds per game in his entire career definitely isn't a great rebounder. Edit: You also said that you wouldn't consider Dwight comparable to Duncan unless he averages 15-20 ppg, well he has. He averaged 15.8 last year, and without Steve Francis for a full season I expect that number to rise up to 18 or 20, hell he averaged 18 the final 9 games of the season.
I meant isnt that great, as in amazing the way dwight is. Dwight is already better at rebounding. And compared to the greats, TD isnt up there

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheFreshPrince:</div><div class="quote_post">And compared to the greats, TD isnt up there</div> I don't know where you get that idea. Duncan is one of the most consistent rebounders in the league. He came in fourth in doubles doubles last season and he is an excellent rebounder. By the way, Dwight came in second in double doubles so at least your right about his rebounding skills.
Tim Duncan is 16th all time in rebounds per game. He'll probably crack the top 20 in total rebounds with no problems if he continues at the rate that he's going and the amount of years left in him.
^^Yeah, and dwight is better than him, so is Wilt, Russell, Rodman, and barkly. Those are the greats, i see him on the second or even third tier of greats. And i said isnt THAT great, as in he isnt top 5 or anything
