<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Newark Star-Ledger - After the Celtics extended Paul Pierce, Nets star Vince Carter appears to have been left without the same opportunity from the Nets.

Both Carter and Pierce had signed identical contracts five years ago, calling for a $15.1 million salary in 2006-07 and a player option ($16.3 million) the next season.

"There's nothing really going on regarding him," Thorn said. "I think Vince's plan is to play this year and see what happens."</div>

Its good that the Nets did not resign him. He has to proves that he is worth the money and the loyalty. Pierce has been loyal to the Celtics, and has been rewarded for that loyalty.
